Texturized Problem

In the past I would be able to just wet set my hair on magnetic rollers and airdy to get my hair very straight... no heat needed.

Now I can't do that, it doesn't straighten all of the way.

I have very resistant hair. I don't think that there ever was a time when I could get the straight look without overprocessing my hair badly (leaving a super no-lye relaxer in my hair for 40+ minutes)

Fortuantely, I don't put my hair through that anymore.

Anyways, now I'm scared to overprocess my hair. I use motions with oil, regualr strength for 13 minutes (application + smoothing time) I try to smooth my hair as long as I can to get some straightening.

I don't want to overprocess my hair anymore... I don't want to go to a stylist because they cost more money and I just don't trust them. When I do it MYSELF I don't get burns and my hair doesn't fall out

What would be the maxium time that I could keep this relaxer in my hair without having to be worried about leaving it in for too long?

I wanted to add... that even this relaxer in super for 30 minutes doesn't straighten my hair... I suspect that maybe I can keep it in for longer because of my hair being resistant. Also, it's not only this relaxer that doesn't take... the only ones that do are no-lye in super strength left on for a looong time.

I feel yr pain, but when a super relaxer doesn't always get the job done, you can end up w/ burns and damage. :( try to relax yr hair w/ a medium -yes medium perm in sections and smooth yr hair. It's better not to get yr hair stick strait-less damage and more sytle options. Section hair in 4 sections that way u can take yr time and smooth yr hair. Leaving a relaxer in for 40 min sounds a bit scary! I hope this tip helps

Is there a chance you coudl swtch relaxers. Motions POil was liek putting water on my hair...But Affirm, Designer Touch, Mizani, and Elasta QP...all wored fine. I am with Affirm right now.
