Hey Text girls, I'm seeing more and more of y'all everyday, and I'm a 2 day old texturizer. It was mentioned in another texted related thread that since there were so many of us sprouting up there should be a challenge specifically for us. I personally have been waiting around for someone to start one since it was such a fabolous idea, well everyone wait no longer it is here!!! I don't really want to be a moderator since I'm not really a message person more like a stalker but if I have to I will. So who's in? We can post our regimens, any changes, any successes and we will have a home to come home to. We can check in once a month or every 2 weeks, it's really a wide open area. I just want one and I think you all do to! So once again who's in?

I'm in! :woot: I am currently a little past the shoulders and looking for brastrap. I plan to do wash & wear styles when I get some length (like armpit). I'm on the egg, alfalfa, & carrot juice challenges. I am ending my Surge challenge.

Count me in too. I just cut my hair back up to just grazing my shoulders (trying to grow out layers). Right now I'm rockin' a sew-in because I can't get rid of these urges to cut my hair!!! haha

Please count me in. I am a long time stalker. I did the BC and first texturizer on 12/10 (down to 1 inch). I'm currently at 2.25 inches and praying/counting.

whoo-hoo! let me post my goals, etc (although I think its in my siggy). I've only been texturized for a couple of days but I was natural for like 5 years. I ultimately want bra-strap (i think but i might get longer). But like modelchick my hair has 'natural' layers (i call them natural because i definately didn't put them there its just the way my hair grows) that I want to grow out. My first goal is to get to armpit with teh majority of my hair. I've been currently rocking rollersets, and knot sets, but once i do a corrective text. I think I'll be wearing wash and go, and buns more. Any more takers?

How is it going?

I am growing at a steady pace. I did a trim on Mar 19 it was ~1/2 an inch. Also, I fell on the egg and carrot challenge.

OH ME TOO! I am getting my touch up on wednesday and I plan on doing a wash and go type regime (in summer) alternating with braids and cornrows when I'm not doing the wash and go thang!

Mee Too!!! Mee Too!!!
i just got my texturizer 3 weeks ago. i will post pictures as soon as i get a good camera.

I was natural for 3 years before, my length was armpit length. Sadly, the stylist cut layers into my hair, and now it's at my shoulders. (which means when i wash and wear, it's at my ears.)

I want to experiment with some roller sets, and find out what else you guys are doing for styles.

Oh yeah! I just wanted to let y'all know about a product I tried on Sat night. It really does what it says!
it's the Marc Anthony curl gloss/serum. It defines curls, and makes em really springy and glossy. Love it.
ok.

Count me in too. I've had my tex for about a month.
My ends are still frizzy though, almost my natural texture. Has that happened to anyone?.
How often to you touch up?, do you use the relaxer on just the new growth or apply to all of your hair for a short time. Lot of questions I know, but I pretty new to this.
Thanks!!

moonpower, sounds like you are underprocessed, you may have to go thru with the texturizer one more time until you get the desired results that you want...I would wait at least 2 weeks to do so however, you don't want to overprocess...

Hi all, moonpower, I'm seriously underprocessed too (no one would ever consider that i have a text.) so I am going to reward myself for studying for the mcat by texturizing this saturday (I think its been about 4 weeks since I orginally self texturized).
Growth Wise: I like the text more because its not such a hassle to wash my hair (the texturizer decreased the volume slightly when wet, and detangling is much better), so I feel like my hair is getting more moisture, and my hair is responding better to products that used to do nothing so i'm saving moula. I thought my hair would feel weaker but it usually feels really moisturized and i have less breakage when detangling so that should equal growth eventually. I'm also dusting individual hairs frequently.
...on the downside: I think I am addicted to rollersets! I usually do it every 4 days when i rewash my hair, but if i don't set and let it airdry I'm always mentally calculating when I'll have time to set my hair again. I LOVE them...I rocked a serious mohawk out of my rollersets using a banana clip...I thought it was flyy! I can't wait until I do my corrective texturizer though so I can wear it airdried and down more.

Is it too late for one more?!!! I did my texturizer on 2/19/05, I'm loving it! Will post more info later!

adrienne0914 adrienne0914 u are texturized. I would have never guese how do u keep your hair so straight. To get my hair straight I have to blowdry or set it. Of course the blowdrying get it really straight. Also u mention that u were a member of 365 SHGO do u remember nicki are u nicki? the board moderator of SHGO.

yeah, i'm texturized, but i rarely wear my hair straight, usually every 4-6 weeks. the last time recently was mid-january. lately i've been doing braidouts, but i think my hair has suffered because of them. so i'm back to the bun.

when i do wear my hair down straight, i have it done by a stylist. it's just too much work to do myself. girl, i'll get tired and say "forget it" half way through blow drying and put my activator/gel mix on and wear the bun.

i know it's best to roller set if you're going straight, but i have no patience for sitting under the dryer. i tried it once at the stylist. after 1½ hours and still having a wet scalp, i decided that wasn't for me. so i do my lazy bun instead...

hey, of course i remember nikki! i've chatted with her a few times since BHSGO went away. i talk to igglebitties (one of the other moderators) daily. she's one of my best friends. :)

I had to do the same thing.

Well I combed the relaxer thru again and I got much better results. What daily products to you ladies use for curl definition? I'm trying different products, but haven't found anything that I love.

I forgot about this.

How are you guys doing? My growth rate this year is extra slow so far. I am trying a couple of things to get it going again and make it to my goal.

Me too! My growth rate is so slooow this summer!:ohwell: I don't know tho, it may be shrinkage. I've been doing a lot of protective styles and keeping my hair moist. Been cornrowing, braiding and 2x twisting it, hope this will pay off! I just ordered some Lenzi's request, hoping that it will help speed up the process...I'm interested in some MTG too:look:. I hope that this will jump start my hair growth.
