Texlaxers do your ends get smooth after a rollerset or does

My hair and ends get smooth with the rollerset, which is why I do it rather than use heat. However, I don't wear my rollersets. I airdry in them to smooth out my hair, then wear my hair in a bun or updo or a braidout.

Thanks for responding:) This is the second time I went over 4 to 5 weeks with a relaxer and I love the health and thickness of my hair but it is a bit different from what I am used to. I am just getting it to a presentable look but this is still a transition and I know the outcome will be a bit different. Btw I have been what I call stretching 10 - 14 weeks .

my ends are straight but the middle and (of course) new growth are still wavy. I make sure my hair is sopping wet when I am rollersetting. I also make sure that my rollers are wet also. In addition, I am constantly throwing filtered water on my hair during the rollersetting process. HTH.

Thanks Anky I was wondering because its really been a trip. My hair is growing great but it is a unfamiliar texture.I was hoping after this transition I would still be able to rollerset and your responses' have helped alot.

Thank you Anky! I wet my magnetic rollers before rolling up my hair and it was so much easier!! Besides smoother hair results, it's just a lot easier to rollerset this way. Now why didn't I think of that! :spinning:

My ends always come out straight from roller-setting. I have taken up Isis's method of drying on cool and my sets still come out silky smooth.

Lelee, as far as your texure being unfamiliar...you will certainly get use to it. Im sure your hair is thanking you for it.

BTW, thanks for the wet roller tip ladies, I can't wait to try that with my next set!

Your hair and rollersets are very beautiful MelsWifey! I love how shiny your hair is too!

The more I use this motions relaxer (lye), the further down the shaft i have to flat iron, the ends still have no lye in it which was super straight so i dont touch them, I miss the days when I didnt have to do this!!!

Thanks Leleepop and Isis for the kind words!

Isis, a compliment coming from you means so much. I have been a fan of yours since I started my journey in 04', I'm definately trying to get like you!!!

My hair is not relaxed bone straight and the roots are now natural. To get my hair smooth when roller setting, I keep hair soaking wet, spritzing water as I go along if necessary. It's also important to get hair really taut on the roller. With this technique, I never have to smooth my hair with heat afterwards. HTH.

everyone have to flatiron all the way down that hair shaft?

i'm soo lazy, haven't done a rollerset for a while but, my relaxed ends are "underprocessed" and when i did the rollerset, they dried smooth, sleek and flat.

i also use endpapers on my ends too and lottabody (the clear, prediluted) - that may make a difference.

Re: Texlaxers do your ends get smooth after a roller set or does

I am texlaxed and my ends are very smooth after roller setting even without any product. In fact, it's the only way after I air dry to get them smooth

I need a total flatiron or pressing to get my texturized hair straight and smooth. Some folk consider texturized texlaxed but anywho my hair doesn't get straight unless extensive heat is applied.
The rollerset simply stretches the hair out on my head. If I brush and dry in a ponytail it will stretch also but the middle won't.
