I could have sworn there was one so if there is can someone bump it for me. I can't find it. If not then let's make one now so we can talk about what works, what doesn't and so on.

So what do you use to texlax and how is it working for you?

I use Mizani BB last two times I used mild, the next time I'm going to use Regular.

I've used Just for Me Texturizer but I think it's too strong; therefore, misleading. I received advice from a co-worker who texlaxes to use a relaxer, don't smooth it and leave it in for less time. So now, the next time I process my hair I will use the HS no-lye, no-mix Mild relaxer.

What didn't work for me was combing the texturizer through the virgin hair to smooth it. At least it didn't work for me. It was a disaster.

What did work for me was a pre-texlax protein treatment, a post-rinse pre-neutralize protein treatment, and a post-1-week protein treatment. Mixing EVOO (2 Tbs) into the perm. Applying Revlon Porosity Control to my hair pre-texlax. Processing my hair in two sessions. First process and neutralize the front quadrants. Second process and neutralize the back quadrants.

Keeping detailed journal entries on how I texlaxed my hair including minutes has helped a lot. I recently over-processed my roots and ended up with relaxed roots instead of texlaxed roots. I didn't understand what happened. After going through my previous journal entries I realized I left the texturizer in too long. I used the total time to texlax my whole head to texlax 2 quadrants rather than the total time to texlax 2 quadrants. Duh! I'm just grateful I didn't burn my hair off.

I used Design Essential Cream Relaxer Special. What make it special is that a time release relaxer meaning you will need to keep it on longer to get bone straight. I normally leave my relaxer’s in for 10 -12 minutes. This one b/c it time release I left it on for 15 and had the perfect texlax! I should also note that my last relaxer was May 2008 so I have about 32 weeks of NG.

I love the texture I can actually see my curl patter. My hair is strong and not weak as it normally is after a relaxer. I love it. It is now my staple and I will use no other!
