Given that the hair is not fully relaxed, how can you avoid overlapping the next time you do a relaxer????

I don't think you can entirely avoid overlapping, but I minimize it by coating my previously relaxed hair with diluted neutralizing poo.

Co-sign. I avoid overlapping by coating the previously relaxed hair in a creamy protein leave-in and an oil.

I can see the difference in texture but I cover all of the previous relaxed length with oil. This way, the rest of my hair is protected in case I get some relaxer on it unintentionally. If that happens, I still make sure I wipe it off right away.
