Hi Everyone!

I made the decided to telax because I just got tired of the issues I was having with natural hair. My hair has been the same length for two years now so that lets me know it's my ends. I am doing too much combiing and I thought I would be better off with a straighter texture. Plus I was just bored. I have been natural for three years and that was my third time being natural. I get bored with my hair and out comes the relaxer, color, scissors etc.

I under processed the first time. Part of the problem is the crown and a little towards the back of my hair is 4a. The front sides and nape of my hair is more like 3c. I was afraid to over process that part so I washed it out to fast and you couldn't even tell I did anything to it.

I searched the board on correctives and took everyone's advice. I alternated every three days between moisture and protein treatments and waited 6 weeks. During this time I had no breakage at all and very little shedding.

This past weekend I did my corrective and once again failed. The 3c portion of my hair is perfect and the crown is still under processed. I smoothed with my fingers and it felt like it was getting straight so I washed it out.

I am not sure what to do at this point. Do I dare try yet another corrective or should I go to the salon? Or should I not try it again at all?

I don't want it to all fall out from some many try's but I am also concerned that I will get breakage in my crown from the texture being so different.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi LadyD2u! I am going throught the same problem as you right now. I did a texlax 6 weeks ago and I left it on for 5 mins. I washed it out and it didnt do a thing. So last week I tried again but left if on for like 12 min and it still didnt really do anthing. So I say third time is a charm. I am waiting another 6 weeks to do a corrective. My edges are a different texture too and in the crown and in the back is the thickest.

On your third time start with the thickest hair first so it gets processed the longest and wait to do your edges last. And the key to leaving some texture is not to smooth. I hope this helps. I hope you dont feel alone cus I am in the same boat as you.

Oh, where did you get the technique to alternate protien and conditioner for 6 weeks?
