I tried to telax a couple of weeks ago and I mixed it with protein conditioner and I left it on for 5 mins and washed it out. I didn't leave it in that long and it didnt change my hair at all.

How long do I have to wait to texlax again to get it right?

That happened to me too, I would wait at least 6 weeks before i retouched again. I don't know if 5 mins is long enough. I think if you keep it on longer just don't rub it in to make it straight, it would be ok.

I read somewhere that if you mix an oil into the relaxer it is not a strong so it won't straighten your hair as much.

I just texlaxed using Silk Elements Mild. I added two tablespoons of olive oil and 4 of protein condish and I left it on for 9 minutes. It turned out curly. I'm a 4a and 5 minutes barely texturizes my hair when the relaxer isn't mixed with anything. Maybe you should do a strand test next time to get the perfect timing.

I tried a second time and used ORS and this time I left it on for about 12 mins. and I mixed in protien only this time. Last time I did oil and protein. The results still came out similar to last time. I guess third times a charm i am waiting for another 6 weeks for a corrective. Maybe I should try a different brand or switch to lye.
