TEXLAX AIRDRYIN? WHATS THE SECRET!

I am trying sooooo hard not to use as much heat! I've given myself 2 washes this week just to see what works for my hair when it comes to airdrying. So far, the only thing that I've gotten down is that my hair doesn't like to airdry without products being in it. Therefore I have learned to put a little moisture, something that has a creamy base that has a bit of protein & keratin in it, and a light oil. Now, this works for the crown of my head, but dang it! I can not figure out whats going on with my ends and airdrying! They always come out crazy.:ohwell: The crown of my head will get completely dry and my ends will stay wet and limp foreeevvvverrr it seems. Well, atleast for 3 days. This scares me:eek:.

I am so paranoid about my loose wet ends snappin! I tried putting a big loose scrunchie around my airdrying pony to secure it....but only to find out the next morning the scruchie in on the floor and my ends are lookin like lightning bults!! I also tried putting my wet ends around a magnetic roller then stickin it in a baggie,,,,ummmm....its more damp the next day! Whats the secret texlax ladies???? Not to mention, my hair comes out wavy. How can i get my texlax hair straight without using heat??? (REACHIN OUT TO MY TEXLAX SISTA'S)

My ends are relaxed bone-straight, but I have a few inches of texlaxed hair (and a few inches of new growth:lol: ). But airdrying works great for me. After applying my leave-in & oil, I usually pull my hair into a loose pony with a satin scrunchie, and roll a magnetic roller around the ends. I clip up the roller (with a long roller clip), tie a scarf around my edges, and go to bed. Sometimes, I'll just tie a scarf around the edges and airdry partially with the rest of the hair hanging down. I put in some bantu knots or flexirod rollers when the hair is mostly dry, and go to bed.

Also, these methods will NOT get your texlaxed hair straight, mind you. The only way to do that is with a rollerset or with a flatiron. Have you tried a rollerset? This doesn't get the hair completely straight (for most), but straight enough.

BTW, putting a roller on your ends & baggying them WON'T work, because your damp ends will never dry if they're in the baggie! This is a great way to overmoisturize your hair and lead to breakage, so I wouldn't recommend it.

Without products? I can't do that either, but with my products and my hair in one big braid it airdries nicely.

I use a leave in (Sidr Tree butter balm) after I detangle with something (I like Fermodyl 619 stuff).

Then put on a serum and it airdries softly.

It does not work for me at all, I have to rollerset, go under the dryer and maxiglide or for get it! Thats why i'm tranistioning back to bone straight..

Thank you! I am so confused when it comes to airdrying. Its just not working for me at all! I mean, I have tried about 3 different ways and none of them give me results that I truly like.

....Thank you for telling me about the baggy thing I was doing on my wet ends! LOL...."LEFT FIELD!":lachen:...geting carried away with the baggy method.

I have been thinking about going completely straight because this airdryin texlaxed hair is kicking my butt!

Thank you ladies for all of your responses! I think I will stick to blow drying my hair as i was doing all along. I didn't have any issues but I just feel that less heat is best, but am learning maybe not for Texlax'ed (my hair).

BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD....TIME TO RE-DO MY REGIMEN AND GO BACK TO MY BLOW DRYING UNTIL I LEARN SOMETHING DIFFERENT :look:

I am just bumping this incase anyone has any new developements. I am always in buns just because I can't be bothered to do all it will take to make it look decent.

I am thinking of buying trhe maxiglide and using it once a month. So 3 weeks bun, 1 week down, I just want to enjoy my hair
