Terminal Cancer at 21

Some of you may remember that I posted around this time last year about a friend that was 20 and had been diagnosed with cancer. I've gotten several updates since then, hearing that she was doing better and being allowed out of th hospital sometimes...

However that changed today, I got a message that the doctors are saying there is nothing more they can do for her, and she is not responding to treatment. I'm really asking you guys to pray (and if you can fast also that would be great). We've been praying for her for a while, but I think this needs fasting also. Her name is Sandy, please intercede for her. Not that anyone deserves this, but this girl loved to dance for God, was so full of life and strength, and to hear her life being cut short is a huge loss.

Thanks in advance

I have said a quick prayer for Sandy just a moment ago. I will set aside some additional time on my lunch break to intercede on her behalf and I will submit her name to the intercesory team at my church when I get there tonight. You be strong and encouraged to know that 1- nothing is too hard for God and 2- while God is not fair (by our human standards and understanding), he is righteous. There is a difference between the two.:rosebud:

I don't understand what you mean (at the underlined).
What does this mean in terms of Him healing her?

Sending up prayers. Terminal cancer at any age is not Gods will. Jesus wasn't sick so she shouldn't be either. I hate when doctors say that. It takes all the hope and fight away. Praise God that their word is not the last word!

Tell her to get into the word and take her Communion as many times a day as she can. It truly is medicine.

Jesus was sick...he felt the very same we feel today to the extent that he was murdered and his blood poured out. He died...way beyond sick. There is a time appointed for every human to die. We just never know when that's supposed to be. Just sayin.

To THIS day he is NOT sick. He took on all of our sickness at the cross (becoming sick) so that we would be WELL. This is what the finished work is all about. So I agree with you

I agree that we will never know when that time will come but sickness is never the will. Being healthy is.

Well, as he lived on earth, he suffered just like we do. His life isn't just about the cross...it's about his earthly life as well. He was sick, he experienced hunger. G-d hasn't promised wealth, health, greatness...what He has promised is that He's going to be with us through whatever it is we endure.

So sorry to hear. I'm praying for your friend Sandy and all her family & friends that they remain faithful in their support & lifting her up in prayer.

I can only imagine how difficult this must be for you. I am lifting your dear friend up in prayer. Trust God that all things work out for good

Do Christians always have to argue about the ways of God? It's not about our opinion of him or about us being right in our doctrine. He'll do what he'll do for he knows the end from the beginning and vice versa. We can still get on our knees and intercede on her behalf, God will never turn his back to our cries.

I will definitely be praying for your friend OP...

Behind the scenes, prayers have absolutely gone up. G-d doesn't always heal and sometimes He gives absolute miracles. It's best to be balanced to accept whichever outcome as not to be disappointed and feel abandoned or that one's faith was faulty somehow (anybody else been there?). Death is very much a part of life. Fortunately, so are miracles!!!!... but nothing is promised besides Him being present with us. Theological soundness is always best. No offense to anyone...it's just not true that Jesus never suffered/felt pain/illness. He absolutely empathizes...cuz he experienced it.

I will be praying. Terminal or not, she will get better.

Good news! In his time, God ALWAYS heals. Because whether it be in this lifetime or eternity, I know that My God is awesome enough to keep his promise. Why? Because he makes ALL things beautiful, in his time.

:bighug:

I disagree. The bible gives you instructions on how to receive healing. Disappointment is a result of unbelief and doubt. This is common.

Aviah, you are a dedicated and loving friend. I will definitely continue to pray for Sandy and I have no problem fasting.

God bless you and I believe God. He will always be Jehovah Rapha, our Healer. :Rose:

I don't know if you or your friend are open to this but I know of several people healed of cancer. A couple of these (Christian) people, one a doctor, changed their diet totally and cleansed their systems. I believe in natural and spiritual wisdom. If you feel so led, I can send you information and/or a website that you and your friend may find very helpful. I did pray for your friend.

I've heard about this, about veganism strengthening the immune system (if we are speaking about the same thing). I haven't seen her in months and am not sure how she is. I'd like to mention it to her, but again, I have to wait until I see her to see what she is and isn't open to. Its really a sensitive time...

Thank you so far for all those who have prayed and been fasting for her, it is greatly appreciated.

God Bless you all xxx

Honi and Volver did a better job of articulating what I was trying to say in my post:drunk:. It is not fair that this has happened to anyone, certainly not someone so young but, God is a healer. However doubt, sins, unbelief, etc sometimes block healing. Having said that we have to know that no matter what God is able!

I just started reading a book called Turn Setbacks into Greenbacks: 7 Secrets for Going Up in Down Times by Willie Jolley...in the introduction of the book he interviewed a lady named Mrs Doris DeBoe.

"Mrs. Doris DeBoe, a ninth-grade math teacher who was diagnosed with cancer and given only a few months to live. She was stunned when she got the diagnosis but made up her mind that she was not going to die. She looked the doctors in their eyes and said, "I am not going to die any time soon. I am going to live for 25 more years because I have too many children to teach!" I am glad to say I was able to celebrate her eighty-third birthday with her, and when she passed in 2009, she did not die from cancer (she beat cancer four times), instead she died from old age. I spoke at her funeral and we celebrated her life and how she accomplished her goal to beat cancer. She lived for more than 25 years after the doctors had given her six months. In my book, A Setback Is a Setup for a Comeback, I share a powerful quote from Mrs. DeBoe. She said, "Tell the people in your book that I might have cancer, but cancer does not have me! Also tell them that doctors can give you the diagnosis, but God always gives the prognosis!"

---My prayers are with your friend.

^^^ That is so good! I almost forgot, Joyce Meyer beat a terminal illness and so did Creflo Dollar. They stood on the word:yep: and rejected the report from the Dr. They got busy confessing the word.

My heart goes out to her, and I am definitely praying her. May God wrap His loving arms around her, and let her know that she has a home where He is. Regarding treatment, I've heard wonderful things about this place. The treatment is medical and spiritual.

I believe that God always heals His children - whether in this life or in life eternal. My grandmother had lung cancer in 1999 and He healed her by taking her into life eternal where she is at peace. One year later, my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer that had spread throughout her body. The doctors' prognosis was death in a few months. He healed my mom in this life. My mother did not undergo any chemotherapy or radiation. To this day, my mom is still cancer free and God called her to preach in March of last year and she is currently in ministry training.

I've prayed to God believing in His healing. I've asked for healing for this lifetime, but nonetheless, His will be done. And I believe that He will do what's best for Sandy, His beloved child.

My mother wrote a healing message with scriptures that she gives to people who are sick. If you would like to have this for your friend, please PM with your email address.

Sandy is blessed to have you as a friend.
