Yes as soon as i remove my box braids, just the front portion as it is the bulkiest part of of my head, i'll texlax.

I love  it. I've been using it for about 10 yrs.It doesn't make my hair dry @ all.But yes in small letters on the back it contains Sodium Hydroxide which in other words is LYE.

If you're going texlaxed, go with Mizani. It was the best relaxer I ever used, but I need something that gets my hair straighter.

I don't have a lot of experience with relaxers -- at least not a lot of good experiences. However, the best I ever used was Affirm Fiberguard to texturize my hair. And if I ever use a relaxer again it will be the Affirm.

ITA!!! :yep: Mizani is a texlaxer's dream. :yep: It leaves your hair soft and full!

. . .and throwing a little oil in there makes it even better! My fave!

I have tried 5 relaxer lines in my life...

Optimum lye regular- good relaxer, got my hair straight, but after 2 years hair started to dry out and break at the mid shaft, and my thick hair disappeared and I was left with thin, short, shoulder length hair.

Mizani lye regular- worked okay..didn't get my 4b kinks straight, and hair felt lifeless directly after the relaxer. I usually had to wash it 2 days later, cuz it just layed there stiff and dry until it got washed and reconditioned. (Hair never grew... but my stylist kept cutting it at the same time...)

So.. my stylist recommended Mizani sensitive scalp...(No lye)... I liked this one... never burned my scalp and my hair acted better post relaxer.....but then I read a book that said that no lye relaxers were bad for the hair follicle...and I switched to

Affirm mild - Used this for one year and still like this one... my hair thrived with this relaxer... Got thick and grew from shoulder to bra-strap. This relaxer relaxed my tight curl pattern to a point where my hair could be controlled and styled...but not bone straight. I still don't know what a texturizer is, but from what everyone describes here, I think this "texturized" my hair vs anything else...

Now fast forward to finding this board and hearing such good reviews of phytorelaxer index 2.. Waited a year before trying it....but I wanted to see if this no lye relaxer could make my hair healthier... if that is even possible. Relaxers are harsh chemicals that break the bonds in the hair and straighten them out... But after researching this relaxer and it's chemical component that actually does then straightening...I KNEW THIS ONE WOULD BE DIFFERENT!!!! After I did the strand test with the phyto... I knew I had found the ABSOLUTELY BEST RELAXER EVER!!!! I was so excited to apply this product to my hair . It was amazing.. My hair sucked this relaxer up and my hair was so soft immediately after rinsing it out. My hair is still soft and it's been 5 DAYS !! My hair is shiny and I am Loving it!!

Sorry this is so long.....but I hope this can help someone decide on that perfect relaxer for their hair. THANK GOD I HAVE FINALLY FOUND MINE!!

PHYTORELAXER FOREVER!!! My hair finally feels like it belongs on my head!

I am jumping on the Mizani bandwagon. I used Mizani regular and I LOVE the results. My hair is soft and full of body. I am going to see how it works for me in the long-term but for now, it is definately all I will be using.

My beautican uses the Dudleys line. I love the true indulgence relaxer she uses..my hair is very soft. However, I use Nexxus products at home so I guess those two compliment each other.
