I've read all these posts about the Split ender (by the makers of Revo styler) and many of you are skeptical (myself included) but some of you say that you ordered it, but never kept us updated on how it really worked!!Please all of you that have ordered the Split ender and used it, please give an update on how effective it was because i'm thinking about ordering it, but not if it doesn't work, of course. Thank you

I wasted enough money on the RevoStyler as it is.

someone on another website used it and said that it worked for them. They liked it but I cant seem to find the post because the search doesn't work on that website. As soon as the search button works then i'll look it up for you babe.

Ugh don't use it. My good friend has 3b/c hair and tried the Split Ender...and it literally broke off 3-4 inch strains of hair

. She even had her hair professionally flat ironed to see if the product worked. It's a piece of crap. If you want to get rid of split ends, do it the old fashion way!

Thank you very much Bellydancer! i checked out the site and read the posts and I saw this:

IMPORTANT: THE SPLIT-ENDER WILL ONLY WORK IN CLEAN, DRY HAIR. USE TO REMOVE SPLIT-ENDS AND DAMAGED HAIR ENDS ONLY. NOT INTENDED FOR DAILY BRUSHING. Wash and dry your hair thoroughly before using the Split-Ender. Comb your hair completely free of tangles before using the Split-Ender. DO NOT USE if you have hair sprays, gels or styling products of any kind in your hair. Once you are finished with the Split-Ender, you may use any products of your choice to finish your look.

There is no way that I could or would attempt to blowdry my hair without using a product to protect it, so I guess I couldn't use it anyway. There was someone on there that said she used it and that it worked but she said she wouldn't recommend it yet until she tries it some more.

I still plan on purchasing it. I don't see that it's a big deal. It's not like it's a chemical. I'll try it on a few strands of my hair and if i don't like it, i'll return it. I read the messages in the link provided and i'm not sure why those ladies think it's supposed to make your hair straight. all it's supposed to do is take of 1/8th of an inch along the strand. Also, someone stated that she only used it once. When you get your ends trimmed, you don't do it back to back within days or weeks time, so I don't know why anyone would think about doing that with this gadget. It defeats the purpose.
More important matters requiring my funds have come up all summer long which is why i haven't purchased it in june as planned and i've been just working the longest hours all summer long. i'm hoping to order it within the next few weeks when work slows down and I will surely keep you all posted as promised

My mom ordered it a couple of weeks ago and paid $20 for shipping but it's still going to take 4-6 weeks to get here

i ordered it before i saw the commercial, and i must say it's very convincing. i'm almost tempted to order it again, but not quite

i let friends use it and they had the same results. it could be that i had leave in conditioner in before it dried, but doubt it

My ends are not just the problem I have hair that is shorter then others, those small pieces that stick up and that are breaking too, That brush seems like that perfect answer to my breakage

, I really want it too work, Ur hair must be cleaned before using it, so maybe that is what happen felica, but I really dont know,

plus the split ender does not term your hair, but the ends of your hair so u dont lose lenght, u just lose your ends, I dont know any stylist that can do that

I used the revo styler brush and that helped me alot with blow-outs. I don't know about this one yet.

So sad to hear that it didn't work for you. I would take or send it back. The one I purchased at Walgreens (sp) did show results. I don't know if you saw my pic before but I have a split ender folder that show the cuttings on the lid after I opened it to see how much hair it clipped. I just made sure I combed out the tangles from my relaxed hair (no blow dryer), did small sections at a time, one pass per section.

I've used it once and plan to use it again as the need arises which will probably be every 3-4 months.

Grant you, this might not be a product for everyone but it meets my needs and I am satisfied at present.

I got mine a week ago and it seems to cut off some of my split ends without taking any lenght away. I kind of like it, specially because I have broken hairs of different lengths and after I used it it looked better. The first time I used it I didn't get good results because I had to much stuff on my hair, but then I clarified my hair, used some GF,some Humecto and it turned out extremelly soft. I just used a very lighr leave in and used a few drops of WGO.I let it airdry, then I used the curling iron to straighten my newgrowth. When it came time for me to use the splitender, it worked wonders. my hair wasn't too greasy, or too dry and my hair didn't get stuck on the splitender. I wouldn't send it back at all. I'm trying to grow my hair, and I haven't been to a professional stylist for over 2 years now. I do it all myself, and so far my hair is doing fine.

I have the split ender and I use it after I have pressed my hair straight very light oiled and I use thin partings. run it down the ends and very little is trimmed off the size of maybe razor stubble...I like my results I used mine every five weeks but now I'm spacing it out longer between trims

I actually purchased one not too long after Spagirl shared her review. Although it's mechanical sounds make you think its about to eat up your hair, I thought it worked pretty decently. I'd give it 3 stars out of 5. I waited till I had my hair fairly straight, and it was lightly oiled. I made sure it was brushed smooth and detangled, and I used relatively small sections and slowly moved the split ender down each section. It doesn't catch 'every' strand that you have, but it snips a tiny piece off of most. It took me awhile to cover my whole head but I was pleased with the results. The only reason I give it 3 stars is because it doesn't get every strand (in the sense that scissors do), but I didn't expect it to be capable of that anyway. I think if you are patient and careful with it, its safe.

edited to add: I bought mine at Walgreens. I didn't even know the thing existed until I read about it on this board.
