Has anyone used tea tree oil, and got any benefits? I am currently using ORS Tea tree oil, and it smells mediciny! I think it is helping my hair. I got go Google it! So, I am curious to who uses it.

I love tea tree oil but not for my hair. I did put it on a spray bottle with some aloe vera. I don't use it regularly for hair I mostly use it for my face and when I have canker sores in my mouth.

Tea Tree Oil is great for dandruff and irritated scalps. I love it, I suffer from topical eczema, which causes my scalp to develop painful pimples, my doctor prescribed a natural conditioner that is mostly tea tree oil. It has really helped a lot. I haven't seen a scalp pump yet:grin:

I love tea tree oil. I pour some in a mist bottle heavily diluted with witch hazel and use it as an astringent after I wash my face, and use it as a mouth wash (heavily diluted ofcourse) and also use it to clean cuts or scrapes if I get any.

I have never used it in my hair, but I have read that it's good for itchy, flaky, or psoriasis scalp.

it is good for feminine issues.
Thrush (Candida albicans of the mouth)
In laboratory studies, tea tree oil has been shown to kill fungus and yeast such as Candida albicans . However, at this time, there is not enough information available from human studies to make recommendations for or against this use of tea tree oil. Tea tree oil can be toxic when taken by mouth and therefore should not be swallowed.
Vaginal infections (yeast and bacteria)
In laboratory studies, tea tree oil has been shown to kill yeast and certain bacteria . However, at this time there is not enough information available from human studies to make recommendations for or against this use of tea tree oil for vaginal infections. Although tea tree oil may reduce itching caused by yeast or bacteria, it may cause itching from dry skin or allergy.

Genital herpes
Laboratory studies show that tea tree oil has activity against some viruses, and it has been suggested that a tea tree gel may be useful as a treatment on the skin for genital herpes. However, there is currently not enough information to make a recommendation for or against this use of tea tree oil.

Tea Tree Oil is one of the ingredients in my daily mister - I use it to insure that my scalp stays in the best topical health possible. :yep: It's nice - keeps me scalp feeling clean.

I had a staph infection in the scalp over Spring Break. One of the ladies on the forum told me to mix some in my KeraCare Shampoo. It was completely cleared up in about 4 days (along with the help of Antibiotics)

I add it to my scalp concoction that is aloe-vera based. I add it to my moisture spritz, which is also aloe vera based. A few weeks ago, I added some to my shampoo and me and shampoo are mostly indifferent to each other. As long as the shampoo cleans my hair and does not strip it, I am fine. I am not looking for moistuization, slip, etc. from my shampoo because I can achieve it with a DC followed by a moisturizing condish. I have one bottle of tea tree oil mixed with jojoba that I use on sore muscles and whatnot (tea tree oil is really watery) and another bottle that is straight. When I added the tea tree and jojoba to my shampoo, it was practically a religious experience. My hair was  -- soft, detangled, slippery, volumized...It was really something.
