Has anyone ever tried Tea tree Cholesterol? It is a intensive therapy hair treatment. I bought it but have yet to use it. My aunt told me it makes her hair and scalp feel great. Any comments?

Sally's had the Lustrasilk Tea Tree, Herbal & Aloe cholesterols on sale for $.99/ea. I bought them all (actually several tubs of them all) and I wasn't impressed. The tea tree cholestorol did have a nice cooling feel to my scalp, but both the herbal and the tea tree left my hair feeling a bit rough even after my clarifying prior to using them. For me the aloe (deep conditioning/detangling) was the best of the three. In fact I deep conditioned w/ the aloe last night, sat under a heat cap for 45min. This time I added a little Pantene S&S and my hair came out soft and detangled. I won't be purchasing these again. I will be using the rest for my daily CO washes so I can get through them quickly (+ the S&S). I'm heavy handed with products so I do like the fact that it's thick, creamy and inexpensive so I can be very generous. I've used the LeKair Cholestrol reg. it's very moisturizing IMO, but I think I'll try the Lekair Aloe next.

Sally's has the generic version of the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Oil conditioner. It really gives your scalp a tingly feeling and leaves your hair soft. I use it off and on and really like it.

I actually liked the Lustrasilk Tea Tree Cholesterol. I used this as a deep conditioner following imediately with a conditioning wash. I had no problems with tangling, but then again I did use a moisturizing conditioner immediately after rinsing it out. Hmm...

I dont like Lustrasilk cholesterols at all! I tried this and my hair did not feel "conditoned".. it was sort of tangly and hard feeling. QH and lekair make better cholesterol forumlations IMO.

beana3, I bought and tried 3 formulas of the Lunstrasilk conditioner when Sally's had them on sale for $.99 last month and they all had my hair feeling the same as yours, tangly and hard-like feeling. I agree Queen Helene makes much better cholesterol conditioners.

I tried the one by Lustrasilk when my hair was relaxed. I didn't like it. When I rinsed, my hair felt tangled and rough. For a tingly feeling on my scalp I like Fantasia Tea Tree Naturals Conditioner and Aura Rosemary Mint Rinse . My cousin likes Joyce Williams Rescue Conditioner, but that's out of my price range...

I like Fantasia's Tea Tree conditioner and Aura's Rosemary Mint rinse better also. the cholesterol brand is okay, but the Fantasia brand tingles on my scalp longer and stronger.

I caught it on sale at Sally's about 2 or 3 weeks ago and just used it this past Saturday. I left the Lustrasilk Tea Tree Cholesterol on my hair for 30 minutes (under a shower cap/no heat). Immediately after rinsing, I applied the Suave Coconut Conditioner and gave myself a conditioner wash and my hair came out soft, shiny and detangled.

A good thing about this conditioner is that it tingles the scalp, which relieves dryness and itching. It has tea tree oil and 5 essential oils in it, so I didn't have to apply as much oil afterwards as I usually do.

Maybe this is where I'm going wrong?? These are supposed to be "deep" moisturizing conditioners? Why do I need to follow these up with an instant moisturizing conditioner? I'm confused. I tried this and followed up with Pantene S&S, no rough feeling, no tangles. I got the same results I always get with Pantene S&S. I know my hair needs a deep moisturizing conditioner. And if my hair is benefitting, that's great but I just think the cholestrols shouldn't need a follow up.

Brooke,

Some of the cholesterols have protein (amino acids) in them, so the instant conditioner (S&S, DMR, Eulence, etc.) relieves the dryness.

I didn't feel any tingles on my scalp at all from the Lustrasilk Tea Tree conditioner; I was surprised at that. I use the generic Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Oil conditioner from Sally's sometimes and it always gives my scalp a cooling and refreshing feeling.
