THE BOLDED PART

Isn't it awesome teaching the next generation about hair care? She will carry these terms on to adulthood and say the same things to her daughters. This is a very sweet and endearing story.

Yup, I was pretty clueless about hairCARE-didn't realize it was so complex-now hopefully she can pass on to her peers, kids, or anybody who'll listen.

Its definitely hard work. But for me I guess its a choice. Because I keep my mind on my hair goal. I will really be overjoyed when i get there. Hard work really pays off in the end.

DCing,Washing,co-washing is pure pleasure for me,i get to pay in my hair

moisturizing can be a bit of a chore sometimes tough

I'll be honest and say I don't like doing my hair myself. It's a lot of work and I prefer to go to a stylist when I can. I'm happiest when it's in a secure style and I can just spray with oil sheen and go!

Agreed!!!!!

The only thing i really do at home is Henna and Aphogee. And those are both MAJOR drags to me. But it needs to be done, so i try to suck it up and be consistent.

Taking vit's, moisturizing, and things like that dont bother me.... its just the longer procedures that get annoying and feel like work.

Detangling is a pain in the butt, but that's the only part I consider a chore. The rest is pure pleasure.

I love to wash and condition my hair. I like braiding it and putting it up in a bun too.

I don't wear elaborate "styles" , dye or henna, flat iron often... I keep it simple and it's enjoyable for me.

It's a pleasure doing my own hair and experimenting with different products and styles  but it's a chore doing my daughter's hair  (tenderheaded, hollerin' and screamin' etc.,)

I really HATE to rollerset and detangeling is no fun either, but everything else is okayyyy. I don't know if I would call it a "pleasure" though, kinda like how a previous poster said it's like brushing your teeth. Something ya just gotta do.
I do enjoy mixing up deep conditioners and sitting under the dryer though;)

I agree, I've always loved taking care of my hair, it's fun and I enjoy it very much

I've often thought about this same thing. Sometime i just can't wait to poo, wash, dc (oh la la)...sometimes i even find myself dreaming about hair at nights...:look: . But once i get to rollersetting ( not too too bad) and drying...OMG i find myself constantly checking my cell phone to see when it will be over. My hair takes 2hrs to dry...what we do for beauty. :)

It's pure pleasure. Having 3 kids, the only alone time I get is in the shower bathing and doing my hair. It actually is very relaxing for me to do something for myself. I relaxed my hair this past weekend and during the process they came in the bathroom about 5 times to interrupt me with "she's not sharing!", "sissy hit me!",etc.....a was about in tears that my me time was being sabatoged:(, not to mention the fact that I was doing a lye relaxer which BURNS fast. Luckily I finished up quick.

Pleasure all the way. I love seeing how far I've come in such a short time and how much better my hair looks. and honestly it doesn't really take much time to maintain when you have a pretty strong foundation.

Yes I do! The only part that I don't like very much is detangling when I have new growth to deal with like right now :(

All pleasure. I love going out and looking up new products to try and pre-pooing and DC to get the hair of my dreams.

You're not alone! I love taking care of my hair, especially washing it. My regimen is pretty simple, though. The most extensive thing that I do to my hair is using henna.

In the spring it was a pleasure...I looked forward to it. Then finals time came and bought a new condo and got too busy for it. So now...its become a chore :(

I am about to set up a new regi though...so hopefully it will be back to something I look forward to. :)

I keep my hair simple as possiably! I wash it/ DC and do two strade wits and stick it under my showercap and wig and I'm ready to go! I need to wahs it though and retwist its starting smell lil funky!:lachen:

pleasure when i was relaxing.

even bigger pleasure now that i'm natural.

it's a blessing to have hair at all so taking care of it, even on the not-so-nice hair days, is pure pleasure.

Sometimes it's a chore only because I have to do three heads, but when it's a new product-man you can't beat me jumping in and out of the shower(I'm a bath product junkie too so the shower does double duty:lol: ) or if I'm feeling lazy, I'll just send my dd's out.

But it's sooo funny-I'm in training this week so on my lunch, I went and got new products. When I called home, I told my dd I had some new stuff to try, but I wanted her to apply some products to her hair first and wait for me to get home with the new poos. She was like, okay so you want me to pre-poo with xyz and cover with a cap or sit under the dryer???? I was dying-my baby has actually been listening and knows what pre pooing is. We both died laughing. So, mostly a pleasure

 That is too cute!

It used to be a pleasure, but now that it's longer, and I have another child to deal with, I don't have the time that I used to. If I could just have a good 4 hours of uninterrupted time (yeah right:cool: ) to prepoo, wash in shower, deep condition, get back in the shower to rinse, detangle, rollerset, then flat iron, it would be a joy.

I enjoy it and treat it like a pampering session. Especially when I try something new or do a really long deep condition.

When I first started my hair journey it was a chore, because I was trying too hard. But now, it's a pleasure. I absolutely luv CW, pre-pooing, getting rollersets, and my beloved wash n go's.

I don't know that I think of taking care of my hair as a chore. I place it in the same category as showering and brushing your teeth, something that just has to be done!

The end result is all pleasure though. :yep:

So do I. I totally concur.

Right now, it's a pleasure. I've never really known what to do my hair before. So, I'm having a great time reading here, camping out at Sallys, trying new products, learning new things and seeing my progress. It also helps that my hair is short. I have a book that I'm reading for two half-hours a week while I DC under the dryer. I bring my laptop out to the kitchen while my rollerset is drying. That hour skips by fast. I'm also tickled pink about the money I'm saving and the time I'm NOT spending waiting in a salon.

I'm sure as my hair grows longer, I cure myself of my PJ'ism and tighten up my regimen, it will become something between a pleasure and chore. But, I am enjoying it for now.
