 Okay okay - I had to reach on that for a second.

But can I hear from my current TWAs or the ones who chose to stay TWA and please give me some tips on how to keep it from poofing
:afro2: up in the middle of the work day (which it did today). How can I keep the hair looking the same at 3:00 PM as it did at 9:00AM (moisturized, curly and cute). Share on your oiling tips, moisturizing, curly puddings and custards and techniques....

Can someone elaborate on the B-ball Palm technique? :look:

*sigh* I have too many questions. I want tomorrow to be a better day for my TWA and I. Even though it wasn't horrible.

OH - also - what do you do with it at night to nourish / protect / help it grow?
:help:
*goes and sits in the corner and rocks back and forth to await responses*:peek2:

Thanks everyone.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, drench it in S-Curl or any other activator spray of choice. Comb it and pat into the "fro" shape of your choice and leave well alone. It should stay that way till you mess w/ it again.

Okay - sorry you feel like a broken record on this account. It's me, I suppose. The mention of S-curl brings back memories of "Coming to America" when the Soul Glow family gets up from the couch and drip drip drip.

Not that I wouldn't take that advice. I would have to get my hands on some S-Curl somewhere between now and 8 AM though LOL. I'll definitely keep it in the arsenal of defenses against excessive poof.

I don't know what type your hair is but for my 4B hair, S Curl gives me the cutest little coils and my 'fro keeps its shape all day long without being juice drippin' or sticky. Just a soft, fluffiness that stayed neat all day.

ETA: Your hair looks softer than mine (like a type 3) so the wetness from S Curl will probably keep your hair curled up...unless it stretches it instead. Maybe the gel will work better? But it's so icky sticky! Have you tried Curly Pudding?

for me, i use a very creamy leave in, followed by a gel. it keeps the hold, while still being moisturized. hth.

My hair is 3c/4a/4b pending on where you are in my head. I've not tried the Curly Pudding, but I do have the Kinky Curly Custard (which is what they used in my hair the first day). Again, I have to get used to all of these new ways, I suppose. The relaxed me would use as little product in my hair as possible because I liked it light weight and fun to run fingers through. More product meant more washing. But I suppose if I relegate to cowashing, I should be okay....

I'm going to try dc'ing tonight and in the morning rinsing it out, put in some leave in conditioner (I have a trial of ORS Oil Moisturizing Hair Lotion) before I put in the KCC.

And while I'm out tomorrow, pic up a bottle of S-Curl :yep:

My hair did best when I did a coil out. It is more work upfront though because you have to put the coils in and then carefully pick them out. I would wear this for about a week.
