Sylver2 @-Thanks for helping me lay my 4a/4b flat!

Lately I have been brushing and gelling my hair back to get it smooth which is a big no-no. I would then put a scarf on it to flatten my hair down. It would work but I can't be brushing and gelling all the time.

I checked out sylver2's scarf method. She is relaxed but stretches a lot so she created a method where after she washes, she bantu knots her hair and puts on a scarf. The result is flat new growth. So I figured, why can't I try it on my natural hair?

This past Sunday I prepoo'd w/Aubrey GPB, shampooed w/Elucence and DC w/La Bomba treatment and rinse. In four sections. After I was done I applied some whipped shea to my four sections and then smoothed my hair down a twisted, bantu knotted and bobby pinned my hair into two sections (one knot on either side along w/my permanent side part.) I then wrapped a scarf around sort of snug and put my snug fitting satin cap on. I let it air dry all day. I can use my hood dryer if I need to as well.

In the morning my hair was stretched and flat. I had no humps or bumps. I am so happy I found what she did cause it makes wash days even easier. Check out her fotki for the tutorial

Once again, I *think* about posting and don't. I deep conditioned my hair, applied some EndAll and KinkyCurly custard, brushed through my hair, braided the back with a part in the middle and tied on my scarf.

After I was done, I thought, hey this is like Sylver's technique.

In the morning my hair was flat and I got so many compliments. I'll have to post the pics I took. :)

I've since gone to cornrows but that's just because I'm multipolar when it comes to hairstyles.

Funny that you would post this tonight. I was stalking her album earlier today and carefully studied her bantu knots tutorial. I made a note to try this once I get quite of bit of ng. Her hair is so beautiful.

I've been using this since my last relaxer six weeks ago. This is da TRUTH!!!!!
Thanks soooo much Sylver2 for sharing this. My stretches are usuall 16-18 weeks and I already see this method will make my stretch alot easier.

OMG!!!! This is crazy because I was just thinking earlier how can I make my relaxer stretching more detailed. I wanted to do it for my girl MonaLisa. She was trying to stretch but couldn't last longer then 10 wks. A lot of people say they just can't stretch, I was one of them.
I use to get a touch up every six weeks because I could not and did not know how to deal with the new growth. I have learned so many things. My hair is soo easy to deal with now because I found what works. I got lucky after 30 years..lol.
I'm so glad my fokti helped u in any way.
So I'll be coming out with an even more DETAILED stretching regimen. Day by day, inch by inch..lol
Also a DETAILED summer braidout regimen.
Mo I'm doin because of u so I hope it helps you..lol, and definately anybody else. Relaxed as well as natural.
My daughter is natural so I'm trying the same things on her hair.

Thank U SOOOO MUCH NatStar for the shout out!!!! Motivates me to keep detailing..lol

OH my...I was in Sylver2's album about a month ago and FELL IN LOVE with the bantu knot air dry technique....I was going to wait for more length to try this but I think I'll give it a shot on next wash.

Please keep those techniques and helpful tips comming...Ms Sylver!

We all appreciate them. :)
