Lighten up on the product usage can give results like that. I am heavy handed with product and it was a hard habit to break. Products can still be effective without saturating your hair.

Ingredients also make a world of difference. Usually silicone and oil based products are heavier and should be used lightly.

Try to focus the product on the ends of your hair instead of the scalp following your wash day. Then later in the week a few days before you wash your hair again then you can apply the product from root to tip:)

Yeah, lighten up. I have to. Sometimes I have to rinse product off of one hand after I rubbed it onto both. And don't use alcohol based products to style with. Sometimes they're hidden in the foam wrapping lotions. I learned that the hard way with Motions. I used some of their other stuff, but the wrapping lotion is loaded with SD alcohol, and as soon as I switched to a serum I noticed a huge difference.
