super thick hair

My niece is mixed and she has out of control thick hair the weight of it is starting to give her headaches but she wants to keep her length so I told to get it thined out. So I have very thin hair and I have no clue as to where one would go to have this done can anybody help a sister out. I live in los angeles. Thanx

I dont know about getting it thinned out. Try getting layers.

I think a salon would use a shear or type of scissor to do it . I have had it done to weaves so i don't know how healthy it is on the hair. I would ask a European and African American salon stylist what options she would have. Headaches can't be healthy and layers sound about right.
