Is there a Sunday Best thread. If so please direct me to it.

Otherwise... Who's watching? Lets discuss.

After reading the post asking if you liked the Mary Mary song, "God in Me", I wanted to respond to this post.....Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE Gospel music and love to hear good sangers sang, lol. But something about Sundays Best is wrong and contradictory to the Word.
First, the opening of the show yesterday....could their jeans get any tighter....I mean geesh!!!! Where is the "modesty" in their form fitting clothing. Really ladies, I know they are married, and don't have to conform to "tradition", but at the same time, they "Mary Mary", dress very sexy for gospel artist, in fact I'm pretty sure if you polled a group of ppl who never heard of them, didn't play their music and just on looks alone was ask to catagorize their music, I'm pretty sure gospel wouldn't even fall on the list.
Secondly, should we as Christians have a "contest" about singing the "Good News".....I'on no.....Somthing just not sitting right in my heart on this one, although I love me some Crystal Aiken (last years winner:grin:)
Thirdly.....Didn't slim from NY skin that song....OOOHHH Weee, I wanted to start shouting with her.....(reminded me of how I felt about Crystal last season's winner).
Lastly......Everyone has their own singing style, and I hate to think that if you don't do a lot of runs and high-low dips, then you're not "Sunday Best"....Not a good look for Christiandom.

^^^^ I'm confused. Do you like the show or not. LOL

Last night was the first time I heard the Mary Mary song. I like the song. But it kind of reminds me of one of Jamie Foxx's songs. I think they crossed the line into secular but I still like the song.

I don't mind the competition aspect of the show. I personally wouldn't consider it "unchristian like".

But as far as commentary on the show. I really don't know names just yet. But surprisingly I like everybody. They all have talent.

I'm looking forward to the remainder of the season

LOl.........Ok, I like the show, just not concept, if that makes any sense!!!! Without the competetion aspect of the show, then it'd just be a gospel concert hun????:lachen:
We, as Christians are in the world, but not suppose to be of the world, which means we don't have to do everything the world is doing. So just cause the world has American Idol, we don't need to do a chrisian version.
I watch it, cause in comparison to other shows on at 9pm, that was one of the positive shows.
