Sun Protection

Ok here's one for you guys,

With spring here and summer right around the corner, it is important to keep our skin prtoected form the sun. I always use suncreen ranging between spf 30 - 45 and even have a face cream that is spf 4 in addition to a face stick that is spf 30 when I go to the beach.

So the question is, does your hair get left out of the mix?

What products can we use to protect our hair from the sun on those off times when our hair is free from the protective style? Any products with an spf? How about a little sunscreen on the hair?

You're welcome Camille

And like you said, you can't beat $3.99 It is a steal!

The Pantene Leave in I use says it protects from drying effects of wind and sun...I hope that means it contains sunscreen

But sometimes I use Fantasia IC Polisher and it says that it contains protective sunscreens. Regardless of all of this, I still have to wear a scarf, or hat.

I think hats are good for protecting the hair from the sun. Also Aveda has a spray that has stuff in it to protect it from the sun (spf? maybe i can't remember it was written on the big bottle-travel size doesn't have all the details) and it conditions, its called Brilliant Damage Control. I just bought a travel size today to see if I would like it. Hopefully it's a keeper.

Island Girl, Please keep me posted on this product; ihave such a beenie head, i get lost in hats, whatever the style!
It's like I have the shrunken head thang goin on!

It's a creme. I use it after washing and conditioning. It's the best leave-in detangler I've tried too!

This is the description on the bottle:

As a hairdress, the concentrated formula instantly releases tangles and increases combability to control styles. When used as a styling tool with thermal appliances HEADRESS protects hair from heat and dryness while adding fullness and shine. Time released Antioxidants, UVA and UVB Protectors guard against harsh environmental elements so hair continuously shines with radiant health.
