Have any of you ever tried this? It's a spray in highlighter. A girl came into the office today with a very pretty color.I asked her what was the color and she said she only used this. She said she was afraid to dye her hair so she just spray it in. She swear it haven't damaged her hair or anything like that. I also remeber my friend using this in high school and it gave her a nice color. Have any of you ever tried it? The girl also said that it's really only peroxide, she said it smelled like it too. What ya'll think?

Unless you want hair dryer than a corn field, stay far, far away from that stuff. Unless they changed the formula that is. That stuff wreaked havoc on my hair back in the day.

I JACKED my hair up with this stuff when I was 12. I do not recommend it

Ditto. 'Nuff said.

I remember my older sister used that stuff back in the 80s.

I didn't know it was still around.

I used this stuff two summers ago..it damaged the crap outta my hair, it was like paper, dry and thin and i had to eventually cut it all off a year later after my hair had turned yellow from exposure....

I used this on my bangs when I was 12 and it made my hair look (and feel) like it had been deep-fried. I know there's peroxide in it and most likely some bleach.

I agree w/everyone else, I just finally grew mine out from the early 90's!!! My stylist would always took at it and shake her head, then mutter, "I can't wait until this grows out." LOL. I didn't know any better.

I wondered for years why my bangs wouldn't grow! But they were really just breaking.

Gosh. I didn't know Sun-In was still around.

I used Sun-In in 1984/85. My hair was cut in a 'snatch back'.

AND it looked good too.

It didn't mess up my hair or anything. However, I would never try it now.

Well, I didn't see the damage until months after I used it.

I've used this as well. It did lighten my hair a nice natural color and didn't seem to be damaging at first. But later on my hair became dry and started breaking. I wasn't sure if it was the Sun-in, all that beach time in the Florida summer, switching relaxers.....take your pick. I can't say for sure.

Did anyone ever try that lightening mousse from Salon Selectives? I really like that but I can't find it amymore. It had some peroxide too but I didn't notice any damaging effects from using it and I got so many complements on my "highlights". No one believed me when I said I never color my hair.

You may want to try chamomile tea for a natural, less damaging lightener. If you brew a strong batch, it's supposed to lighten hair when you're in the sun as well (I've never tried it).
Take care,
G

Cosigning all of the horror stories. I used this one summer when I went to camp (yes - I was mad, even then) and sprayed it in DAILY for 4 weeks. I came home with bright orange hair that was alomost white in some places. My mother was like

and I tried to tell her I hadn't put anything in it (cuz she woulda tanned my hide) - "The sun did it Momma!" I said. She made me go GET the belt.

I was 14 and thought I was grown....

My hair was sprinkling to the floor like snow inside a week of getting home. I evenually had to endure my mother's tongue while she cut it...not pretty.
