Do anyone have hair that is resistant to color from henna. I have been using henna for 3 years now and I have never, ever been able to get the beautiful red/brown color that people get. In fact, it does not even color my grays.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I mostly use it for thickening up my hair - right now it feels so nice and heavy - but no color.I decided to give it one more try: NOTHING!!!!!

I am thinking of just trying indigo and going dark to cover grays.

I know I did it correctly because I also henna my mother's hair and hers come out great - of course she doesn't want red, so I have to indigo her hair as well.

Please help!

What brand of henna are you using?
What do you put in your mix?
How long do you leave it on?

I use body art henna from hennaforhair.com

I've added different things to it at different times: usually I try to keep it simple with ACV as a terp (but I've also used lemon juice). I've tried different color additives: paprika, teas, etc. Essential oils etc. I've used heat, no heat . . . just about every variation.

It's usually on for about 4 hours - usually more.
