i finally know why my hair isa dry. it's the dang sun. but my hair is so short i can't really protect it. i think the fact that it isn't pressed is good but it still is dry. i'm gonna stop with the sulfur 8 everyday. i think every other day or every 3 days is enough. i so much film on my scalp it was horrible. and i'm cuttin' back on this biotin cuz my skin is horrible. maybe 900 mcgs in a two day period instead of 1200mcg. oh and i got my pantene sample but i have no desire to use . i am in love with my CON.
Well, except for the unfortunate chemical-scalping I suffered last week
, my hair is doing well. I was actually surprised at the amount of length I had gained because I'm not usually one of these 1"/month lucky ones. But it was enough of a gain to convince me to continue my protective styles. Still C/O washing or rinsing daily. I also love the results from having taken pantothenic acid for so long.
Now I need to get back on those supplements...[sigh]
Edited to add: Miss Luvhair, how is your challenge going?
well my challenge is getting back on track. my ends are thickening up quite a bit thanks to Motions 32 day recipe to stop breakage, but I am still toying with the idea of going natural next year. I keep looking at my really thick new growth and my thin disgusting hair and getting inspired to do the transition thing. But I might just try and get a stylist to not relax my hair bone straight. Oh and I am addicted to elasta qp conditioner intense. Happy CHallenge everyone!
So far so good! I've been wearing extension braids again, and that has really helped me to NOT do anything dumb to my hair. My hair has been very soft, and because I'm in braids, I've been doing a modified No Poo routine. I'm back on Shampoo because with braids, and creamy conditioners, I don't want that "base " build-up, so I use shampoo like once every two weeks now. I'm still semi-consistant with vitamins and my hair looks a little thicker. I can't tell if it's longer yet because I have not been taking pics
glad to hear every1's doin so well...mine is ok i gess, i'm back on vits
and have increased on my scalp massages and hair rinsing...for the last 2 weeks, i been deep conditionin 2x a week which is a first for me but a good thing...i've also downed my biotin from 5 to 3mg coz i wasnt receivin any significant amount of growth.
Like Ngaa, I'm also back on my vits. I'm taking GNC UltraNourishair & Flintstone's Complete. Once those run out, I'll prolly only restock the Flintstones.
If I didn't mention it in the last "check", well, I'M OFFICIALLY TRANSITIONING
& I couldn't be more happy. I have about 3" of new growth THAT I TREAT LIKE A PRECIOUS BABY!!! It's so manageable, soft, shiney & curly...I love it
!!!! In fact, I love my lil 3" of new growth more than I love my (beyond) bra strap length relaxed hair. It's a struggle to treat them equally, but I'm trying. Ok, I really must sound
now
!
All I want is 1" more Sept 1. At the rate in which I'm going, I don't think that'll be a problem
.
SO LISTEN UP LADIES, OUR CHALLENGES ARE UP ON SEPT 1.... THAT'S 30 MORE DAYS. WE'RE INTO THE HOME STREEEEEEEETCH. LET'S GIVE IT EVERY THING WE HAVE SO THAT WE CAN MAKE *STRONG* FINISHES
Hello everyone! My hair is holding up ok. I am slowly trying to get back on the vitamin track. I had stopped previously because my face was breaking out so bad!
My hair looks fairly good. I trimmed a little and I am increasing my scalp massages. I plan to lightly oil my scalp every other day to encourage growth this month. I will keep everyone posted if it works!!!
My hair is doing well. Touched up with Motions mild about 3 weeks ago. Haven't been using my Nexxus products as much. I'd intended to follow Shamboosies advice and stick with the product line for awhile. But my hair started drying out and I went back to Keracare poo/cond and ORS hair mayonnaise. I know I've done myhair correctly when it feels soft WITHOUT oil. You know there are times I have oil on my hair and it still has a certain dryness to it. Know what I mean? I have to be mindful of the TRUE moisture I get from water and conditioner versus FAKE moisture from topical products.
Everythings going fine. I switched relaxer. Mizani No-lye to Affirm Fiberguard Lye. The only difference I've noticed is that my hair doesn't get as straight which was the main reason for me switching.
My challenge is going well. I'm now 13 weeks since last touchup and my new growth feels soft and is definitely manageable. Peachtree ALMOST has me tempted to try & transition, but I don't think I'm ready for that yet... I plan to get my touchup at 16 weeks, which will be right before this challenge ends. I can't wait to see if I got some good growth this summer!!
My true goal was to touch brastrap by my b-day in Nov., so I won't be TOO disappointed if I'm not there by Sept. 1.
Everything is alright but I am beginning to notice my hair has been shedding like crazy, I am not sure if it is because it is getting close to touchup time.
I am sticking to regime of washing my hair, conditioning, and moisturizing. Lately, I have been wearing a low ponytail and trying not to mess with my hair to much.
The only vitamins I will be taking from now on are my multi-vitamins and iron pills.
I'm currently 6 weeks post relaxer. I have been doing conditioner only washes almost daily. I have notices at least 1 to 1.5 inches of growth. However, like Dandy, my hair has been shedding like crazy lately and I have also notice mega dryness eventhough I conditioner wash in the mornings and put in leave-in conditioner, profectiv and a little bit of oil. So yesterday, I did a hot oil treatment with jojoba oil, washed with the new pantene sample I received, put lekair cholestrol in all night, washed it out this morning, used leave-in, profectiv and wild hair growth oil. Hopefully this will decrease the shedding. I am trying to go at least 8-10 weeks before I get a relaxer. Also I did not replenish my MSM and am currently taking the following vits: hair, skin, nails; b-complex; flax oil; evening primrose oil; biotin
I am 6 weeks post relaxer also, but I don't plan on perming anymore. I am becoming a pro at managing different textures of hair, so I am not complaining. My hair is growing and thickening as well.
I have gone back to oiling my scalp with castor oil. I tried not oiling my scalpd a few weeks, but I think I'm just addicted to grease.
