hey guys

I washed my hair with this the other day. I didnt do a dc cause i was in a rush.. i followed with a rinse and i rollersetting ... The results were that my hair had a lot of body but felt really dry and brittle... like i usually can run my hair through it and it would be smooth but it was jagged and got caught even after i comb out the tangles... do you think the suave was the cause of this problem?

Probably was cause this does nothing for my hair and when I used it I had to DC with something else and I was like what is wrong with this stuff

Suave is a cheapie condish that most of us us for like co-washing and final rinse, or pre poo. I've never just used my Sauve without DC. So honeslty, I'm not sure. Maybe just the Sauve isn't moisturizing enough to stand alone. I use mine as a pre poo, but I always finish with a deep condish. Then I might use it as a final rinse. But as a stand alone condish, not me. And so far, I've been having lovely results.

I had to peek in here because its one of my staples. That's odd news to me. I co-wash with it but then again I leave it on for who knows how long??? 15 minutes at the minimum. Would you say that you rinsed it out good? Also, did you use a setting lotion with your roller set and ? If so, what kind because that also may have contributed to the dryness and tangles. Also, what was your drying method? Suave Coconut was one of the few instant conditioners that had a minimum amount of protein in it. So, although not to completely rule it out, it could be happending along with something else.

i rollersetted it and sat under the dryer.. i did not use a setting lotion but i did use a small amount of leave in conditioner.. i thought i rinsed out good...

Interesting to say the least. Check your leave in and see if it is protein based. Otherwise, it may be the Suave or it may be time to clarify if you've been co-washing. I would recommend clarifying and dc'ing on your next wash if you've used the Suave before without any mishaps. I'm pro-Suave so of course I'm going to also say that you should give it one more try (then after that you can just send it to me :lachen:)

OMG u are not talking about my beloved Suave Coconut. This stuff used to be my hair crack. I used it for cowashes...re-wets....as a conditioner...just cause I liked the smell :lachen:

However, since I've stopped washing and going I've stopped using it. I agree with the other ladies...it's not meant to be a deep conditioner just a lite two minute condish.

I know, right? :lachen: I wish they sold this in buckets! I use it mainly in the summer as it's a light conditioner. I add coconut milk and honey to the bottle to beef it up. It's also part of my homemade leave-in.

DH & I buy 3 bottles at a time. He ran out of his expensive conditioner once and had to use the Tropical Coconut. He loved that his hair smelled like coconut! He's hooked and so am I.

I think dc could be the vital step to add in next time. Also if you were in a hurry did the rollerset have time to fully dry?

Well it looks like all of you ladies done came down and swiped up all of the Suave Tropical Coconuts!!!:lachen::lachen: This has been my all-time fave since they stopped Milk & Honey

yea i did fully rollerset and dry i had a class early in the morning so i was trying to cut out some steps.. i guess i should have done that...

I just recently started using this too since I can't find Suave Milk & Honey anymore. I use cheapies only to pre-poo on dry hair under the dryer for 20 min. I dc with Sally's Generic Humectress or Mane & Tail Deep Moisturizing Conditioner.
