Ok,I am coming to 11 weeks post, i have never stretched for this long, and my new grow is TAKING OVER!!
Some days it is not too bad, but other days.... so far twice in the last couple of days I have had two knots in my hair, they where small but still...I hate to see any hair leave my head!!
Detangling is becoming a nightmare, I am very very carful when I detangle as my hair is wet but STILL......Kids Organics Shea Butter is really helpful as well as Rusk Smoother (thanks to Sylver2).
It seems detangling is getting harder and harder, and as opposed to weeks 1-6 of this stretch when i would have NO hair in the comb i have hair in the comb, the freaks me out!! Its not like a crazy amount, i just super parnoid...

I supposed I created this thread just to vent, and only to vent. I only have 5 weeks left of this strech to surely i can make it...

Is anyone going thur the same thing i am????

I just posted this exact same thing about 10 minutes ago in the "long-term stretchers" thread.

I am looking for help as well and will keep this bumped until we can find some answers!

ITA! I just finished my ayurveda regi and feeling depressed from detangling my hair which is a beast. I am going into my 11th week of my 12 week strecth. girl you are really good to even think about going 16 weeks. I was thinking about relaxing this saturday instead of waiting till next saturday because my hair along with this strecth is a daily struggle and besides I'm tired of everyone looking at me crazy in the middle of a mid day sweat and my hair has lost the curls and only have a poof lol.

I feel your pain. I'm 5 months post and it's a challenge. I only comb in the shower since I'm surviving on wash n gos. I don't like how my hair looks when I try to straighten and it's just frustrating. I've been contemplating relaxing, but I'm trying to hold out until November. I figured by then, I would know if I'd like to transition. I just need to get over this hump. sigh.

...and I am complaining at 7 1/2 weeks! Ok, Lacreolegurl spill the beans. How are you wearing your hair?

Oil pre-poo then do a conditioner poo, Ladies then a great moisturizing deep conditioner for at least 30 minutes; should soften things up a bit.

I have pics of my wash n gos. I'll post tomorrow (on my iTouch now). None of the braided bun, but it's real simple. After I wash or cowash, I put my hair in a ponytail and then separate hair into 2 or 3 sections which I braid (so I end up with 2 or 3 braids) and wrap around making the bun. If I keep it tied up, it'll last me couple of days and I use lots of cantu shea butter leave in to keep my hair moisturized no matter the style. I also slap some let's jam moisturizing gel (with the green top - the other ones leave my hair hard) on my edges with a toothbrush. :)

I did that this morning. I prepoo'd with Vatika oil overnight, woke up and steamed in the dang oil then co-washed with Rusk Sensories and sealed with olive oil.

I am now braided up for a braid out tomorrow. I will report back in the morning.

Thanks for tip.

Ok, I just tried the Nioxin Bliss, sealed with EVOO, bunned and I am in LOVE .

The new growth and hair are FINALLY soft!

I just ended a 12 week stretch and I've tried EVERYTHING! My NG was at war and won. I was trying to go 20 weeks, but now I refuse to go past 11:nono:

you will be ok. Im a long term stretcher as well. After 8 months of stretching I got a touch up in April. I'm stretching again. After a few times (this is my 4th Stretch of 6 months plus), its not as bad. You learn what your hair needs. You need conditioners that will allow you to have slip in the new growth and the relaxed hair. Herbal Essence Breaks over and Long term relationship helps to detangle lot in the later months of my stretch. As advised, braid out, Buns, twist outs help a lot. If you get fed up. Put in some Kinky twists and forget about the hair.
