Hey guysss, I'm planning to straighten my hair this Friday, for my SO's dad's 60th birthday :)
soo, i would like some tips please.
normally when i straighten my hair, it's not 100% straight, it's normally still a tinny bit wavy, kind of.
Also, it has no movement, it just kind of sits there, i last straightened my hair in like june, for my 6th form ball, tryna use as little heat as possible.
ssoo, what can i do to give my hair body? make it look sleek and shiny? and as straight as possible?
ALSO, once i've achieved this, what can i do to keep it straight for as long as possible? a few days to a week i'm thinking :)
TIA. x

I don't straighten my hair often either, but I recently straightened and hope to wear it at least 2 wks.

I flat iron on a setting of 350-375--I do this for my youngest DD also and so far no damage. To make it sleek, I use a little jojoba oil on very small sections of hair before I flatiron. Working with small sections, imo, is the key to making your hair look really sleek.

At night, I wrap it up in a satin bonnet that covers the full length of my hair. In the morning, I take a little jojoba oil, apply to the ends, and brush down the edges and frizz with a soft bristle brush.

This is the hair bonnet that I use--I purchased it from Sally's.

Thanks :) i don't have any jobaba oli :( and i can't see me getting any by friday
anyone else got any suggestions? :(

I believe the key to a good press are:
a good deep moisturizing conditioner
a good prestraightening (rollersetting, blowdrying, braidout) depending on your hair texture and density)
high heat and a flat iron (little to know)
most importantly do not use too much product

to prevent reversion you could:
do it where/when the humidity is low
use a little grease
use a serum but do not over do it
