Straight Smooth Edges??? - Lathan Example

Perhaps its because I'm so careful with putting the relaxer on them last but I just can't seem to get my edges straight. I've tried the scarf method with cream, and that helps for a period, then they just get fuzzy looking again. I notice a lot of the celebs have perfectly smooth edges, I don't think they can get a flat iron all the way down there... what gives?

Smooth Edge Example:

I would like to know the answer to this too. Sanaa looks like she just had a fresh touch-up in the picture you posted.

bumping for responses. I wanna know too. They all can't have type 2 or 3a,b, or c edges. And they all can't have fresh perms in all of these pics. Anybody know the secret?

Ditto, perhaps there is something that can be put on the edges while the roller set or wrap dries. Do I vagely remember my hair stylist using paper around the edges of my rollers to get my edges to lay down? I haven't been to a salon in ages so I forget all the little details..

All you need is round brush and a blow dryer. I used to get my edges - baby hairs included - perfect. You can do it after you style too, like once your set is out you go around the front with a small round boars hair bristle brush and a blowdryer. It doesn't have to be hot you just gotta get the technique down, then don't sweat of u'll lose them again.

I have to set my edges using setting lotion. My edges don't look as perfect as Sanaa's.

Thnaks dimpalz, for your help.

Anymore suggestions??!!

This makes perfect sense, but the humanity! most of the ladies here say blow drying is the 'debil' I'm scared to touch mine

Well it is and too much stretching of ur hairline will make u go bald but u know Sanaa don't look like that everyday.

On half dry hair my stylist puts moose on my edges then one of those wrap sheets and back under the dryer for 10 minutes. When I come out STRAIGHT edges every time!

I LOVE my stylist! LOL

exactly... most likely she went to the stylist before she took that pic so you can't really use that as an example.

i just got my touchup after 11 weeks and I have to really work on my ends. I put some ORS carrot oil on them and wrapped it with ends paper and rolled it. they came out pretty good this morning.

Hi Ladies, I like to smooth a little Aloe on mine and tie a silk scarf aound them, like a headband-especially if I am stretching a texturizer. Then put on my snood or sleep cap. In the morning the edges are lying down straight.

I think that's the trick I remember from back in the day! I knew they would put paper on me at some point. I'm trying to get all my beauty shop memories back....LOL I've been doing braiding so long I forgot everything!

I have some aloe vera so I think I will try this. My edges almost never get straight.
