Straight Non-Busy Ends While Flat Ironing

What is the secret?

I think I could have blow dried my hair a little better but still...

Please share your secerets...

Do you mean that your ends never all lay flat like how when someone else flat irons your hair? If so, I'm looking for the answer to this question also. My ends are always flipped up, down, and sideways...Usually I just end up wrapping my hair for a few minutes to correct this.

Yeah, that's kind of what i'm talking about. Its not that I cant get them to lay down, its just that its a 50/50 chance. It wont happen everytime. I think I just need to blow my hair out a little smoother next time. But now i'm stuck with ratty looking ends until my next wash day...smh

yup i've found for myself that just letting my hair dry about 80% and then blow drying the rest on cool helps to straighten my ends. hope this helps.

I know in 2004, I used a product called Lustrasilk Smooth Ends, but I also used grease (Isoplus) and L'Oreal serum and was so happy with my ends that I took a pic:

So much for my photography back then coz you can't see the ends. In my defense my webcam was like 1 Megapixel.

I was hoping this photo would show the ends in the sideswept bangs bottom left but they aren't that clear:

I usually press wet-to-dry then press with a serum and I'm usually happy with my ends. Not sure if that method has anything to do with it.

I blow dry with Paul Mitchel Seal and Shine which helps my hair stay smooth and gives it a slick kind of feeling. I then section my hair off and rub a little serum, right now its the chi deep brilliance one, and then flat iron. Once I took the time to use products designed for each step in the heat styling process, I didn't have this problem anymore. I hope you find a solution.

I chase a fine tooth, heat resistant comb with the flat iron, that always helps straighten the ends with one pass of the iron.

Thanks guys! I used some serum on my ends and a little heat protectant and blew it out a little more to get it smoother and I ended up curling my hair with the flat iron and oinning the curls up near the top of my head. Came out better!

the comb chase method works well for combatting frizzy ends when flat ironing natural hair what i also stumbled upon was the same method but instead of using a comb in front of your flat iron use a boar bristle brush and it just smooth it out perfect when i tried it just be careful and gentle with your hair and you should be fine.
