still having trouble with search

HELP! I read the thread that shows putting the + before each word, but it's still pulling up every recent thread.

How do I search properly?

When I was having problem searching, Don'tspeakdefeat suggusted checking out the 'advanced search' features and the feature that worked for me were the 'quotation marks' around my search topic......for instance "moisture retainer" to look up Dudley's Moisture Retainer.
