I will continue to drink more water and washing every 4 or 5 days. In addition, I will try to get more protein in my diet and I will not use any hot combs or flat irons. For my vitamins I'll take One-A-Day ,a B-Complex & biotin. I need to buy more biotin (1000mcg) though b/c I'm almost out. Target here I come.
It is imperative that we keep our hair moisturized at all times. It's critical to maintain the moisture as well as try protective styles. I am seriously thinking about adding kinky hair for two strand twists. Saw a beautiful style in a magazine. Now I just have to find a QUALITY and REASONABLY PRICED salon to visit in the D.C. area. Any suggestions, ladies?
I will be taking more vitamins to ensure that the hair I grow is healthy and will stay on my head longer! Additionally, I will get back to deep conditioning at least twice a month. Other than that, keeping everything the same b/c it seems to be working!
I am going to be consistent with the good things I already do, oiling ends, scarf at night.
Now.......
Hot oil at least one wash a week.
Deep Condition at least once a week.
Protein once a month.
Vitamins everyday.
Protective phony bun, that almost everyone thinks is mine anyway, most of the time.
Scalp massages.
Get that humidifier going.
Plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.
Stick to my exercise.
Drink water like I'm a fish.
Now I need to print this out and keep it to remind myself.........
The winter season is not "hair friendly." It's like protection and moisture. It seems like just about everyone who has posted has indicated this in one form or another.
Girl, I have my products ready! I will be stressing moisturizing shampoos, including the 2-in-1's, plenty of conditioning. I did well with deep conditioning this summer, but I have plenty of oils for a few hot oil treatments as needed. And, yes, at the first sign of a crackle, I will be double conditioning my ends.
Jen, know that when you are running your humidifier, my pans with essentials all over the house will be giving mega-moisture to the dry indoor air here.
The thought of all the winter gear is not appealing to me right now....not at all.
I think this winter is supposed to bring even cooler temps than last and even a some snowstorms.
I will be lining all of my hats w/ silk or satin and grossgrain. Extra deep condits and moisture on ends. A humidifier sounds like agood idea since the heat in my apartment gives me nosebleeds...this cant be good for hair or skin. But if I have a rollerset, I wont use it or it will 'sweat out' the style!
I will be icreasing my levels of Vitamin C (thanks to Jade's recommendation), as well as eating more healthily and getting more rest, to stave off illness.
Additionally, I will be increasing the use of my Hairobics products to five times a week, as opposed to three. Last, I will be keeping my hair covered. I will continue with the weekly deep conditioning treatments, and periodic clarifying treatments.
I just returned from a retreat in the mountains with a group of seventh and eighth graders from my school, and felt the difference in my hair from Sunday, the day I washed it, to Tuesday, the day I returned. Boy, was I glad to get some leave-in conditioner and oil into my hair! It was very cool and dry up in the Catskills!
I was glad I used the Aubrey Organics GPB before the big trip.
Continue doing what I'm doing -
washing & conditioning my hair every 3 - 4 days
airdrying
protective styles
keeping my ends moisturized
daily exercise & yoga
drinking lots of water
I will add:
wearing silk or satin scarves under my hats or caps
make more homemade soups
increase my hot green tea and hot ginger tea consumption (increases circulation)
