How do you use them, how does your hair come out? What state was your hair in before you used them, like had it been airdryed, previouslky rollerseted, flat ironed? Does it make your hair frizzy?

Thanks

I am natural now but back when I was relaxed (it was this board's texlax) steam rollers were the best for me.
you know how your hair looks when you sleep in soft rollers that is what steam rollers look like times ten minus the dents -- soft curls with a lot of volume and body.
i think steam rollers look the best on flat iron hair however steam rollers will look nice with a roller set or blow dried hair. it will look the least nice with airdryed.
yes they can make hair frizzy if the roller is too wet and/or you did not let the roller dry.

Hey Lonei! I use steam rollers on flat ironed hair.
I normally wash & flat iron my hair early in the week. By Friday my hair is super flat & lifeless...I use my Carusos to instantly add a soft curl + mega volume. This will carry me thru the weekend when I'm ready to do my wash, dc, flat iron reggie again. Actually...I plan to use my rollers tonight...I'm going to a party & I need to look :gorgeous:

ETA: The steps...
I apply a little Aveda Smoothing Fluid to each section
Use end papers
Steam roller for about 5 seconds..be sure to shake the excess water off.
I start the curl tighter then loosen as I roll up (I *** that makes sense)
I leave rollers in for about an hour while I get dressed & do make up...It is soooo important not to remove the rollers until your hair is completely dry.
Remove rollers..I flip my hair upside down to loosen curls...fluff & go!

HTH!

OMG at Bronze's results- literally smh. OP I have tried the Caruso's and it seems they make my hair frizzy. Because I am texlaxed my ends are somewhat frizzy anyways. From watching the video that Taz posted, I can say that maybe I did not leave the rollers on long enough. This thread has inspired me to take out the Caruso set and try again though.

Hi IB - so how are you maintaining your hair when you go to bed? I have been wanting to try this for a while...

Thanks!

I use them on airdried and flat ironed hair. I did a video on it but can't post the link from my phone right now. I'll post it when I get home or you can visit my channel at www.youtube.com/mskibibi. I use them to get waves or curls. I use end paper when trying to get curls so I don't get frizz.

If done on "old washed hair" I dont really make an effort to maintain the curl because I know I'll be washing my hair within the next day or so. Plus after a night out dancing & in this humidity there's no hope for my hair the next day :nono:

If I use the rollers on freshly washed & flat ironed hair I use a couple of flexirods to maintain the curl. HTH
