I called Jcpenney's yesterday to schedule an appointment to get my hair steamed and they never heard of such thing. They do have a steam machine but they only use it for hair color they thought I was nuts and said I could have my hair steamed but the conditioner would run down my face that is the only place that has a machine and since I am taking out my braids I would like my hair conditioned and don't really care what the lady at Jcpenney's thinks of me. Does anyone here go to a salon and get their hair steamed what is all involved do you just put the conditioner on and sit under the machine for how long? I would really appreciate it tremendously.

You don't have to go to a hairdresser's to get your hair steamed

. Go to your local gym or sauna, and use their steam room. That way you could steam your hair and body too and it is also cheaper. Wash your hair, then add your conditioner and relax in the steam room for 60 mins or so then rinse out.

This might be pushing the envelop, but when I was there at the salon I asked about the machine to have a conditioning treatment on my next visit. The manager stated that they had just got it and didn't know if it could be used for conditionings. I shared with the manager that I had a curiosity about the machine because of what I had heard about it on the Internet. I then asked if I could look at the machine because I was thinking about buying one. While standing next to the steamer with the manager I pointed to the button that said treatments, one thing lead to another and she said she would look into it because she wasn't familiar with the machine. To make a long story shorter, the next week I called, as we had agreed, she said it would be alright for me to have the conditioning treatment, the rest is history.

Warning: If you go to a steam room to do a conditioning treatment know that most places advise that you don't stay in the steam room longer than 10-15 mins. It can be hazardous to you health. The results for me wasn't the same. HTH!
