Starting your own business!

I posted this in the career section also so that I can try and get as many responses as possible!

For those who have started their own hair product line or just started a business in general. What steps have you taken towards launching that business? What trials did you encounter? Do you have any advice or general information to help out? TIA!

Just DO it--and write down all of your ideas as they come to you so you don't forget anything.

I launched my first e-magazine last month and there is no greater feeling than seeing your dream come to life! Just being a member of this forum you know you will have plenty of support so go for it--and when you do, let me know so I can review your products on my site!

I also thank Him for finding this site and all the wonderful ladies here. I don't just sell products I change people’s lives.

Care more about helping people than making money
Be credible in what you do and say
Gat a Patton on your products
Seek a small business information forum "yahoo small business"
Try not to get into debt in order to start your business
Advertise by any means possible-flyers-cards-internet-word of mouth
Look for freebies-free business cards- www.VistaPrint.com
Network – involve friends and family
Seek wisdom from your creator-pray for wisdom

I would like to add that you should check and see if you have a local SCORE office (http://www.score.org/)
this is a FREE service that will help you start up a business from the ground up.

Whatever you do, make sure you get a patent for your idea and product. You don't want someone else to come along and steal it! If you can, get legal advice from a corporate or business lawyer on how to proceed...
