A little over 10 years, I was on this website and I followed a hair regimen. My hair was thick, growing and thriving. I think the longest it grew to was just past bra strap length.
Fast forward, I spent my late 20's being a little neglectful to my hair, constantly wearing weaves with very little breaks. I travelled a bunch, lived abroad, attended grad school, worked a corporate job. My hair gradually stopped growing, bald spots started showing and this year it was visibly thinner. The HORROR!!
I am now 33. I have spent the last year or so in denial about the state of my hair and tried in vain to hang on to it. This year, I wanted to take advantage of being at home to start taking care of it, however, I didn't see much change in the health of the hair. So I decided to just shave it all off and start over. I made an appointment with the Dermatologist but it won't be until March 9th. In the meantime, I would love your tips, advice, expertise , encouragements and whatnot. I am so glad to see that all these years later, this community is still thriving.
Edit: So it's been about 13 days since I shaved my hair completely bald and it looks like it's growing. I'm keeping it very simple with a combo of aloe vera spritz and an growth oil mixture at night. After each step, I rub my scalp with a scalp stimulator brush thing. However, the bald spots that were smooth are still smooth. Any advice? thanks. I mean it's the sole reason why I cut my hair, it would be a shame if it doesn't grow back.
Edit.2: Hair is growing back but the bald spots are still smooth. I am trying a week of Greenhouse effect to see if that changes anything.
Thanks, Suki
