Does anyone know where i can get a standing hardhat dryer like the ones they have in the salons that are bigger and wider (for big heads of hair like myself

) and dry your hair superfast? It can be an actual store or an online store. If so, please let me know b/c i need one ASAP. Thanks.

Hey, thanks Nay. I saw one a while ago but i forgot to mark the addie

. The ones above are too small for my head, i wanted the one that shaped like an egg (i think it's black). I also don't think it's made by conair tho

I LOVE YOU HONI!!!! that is the site i didn't bookmark.THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Since i am not buying it, around how much did u spend for it? Also, does it dry your hair really fast? AND more importantly, that's me in my av, and i have a rather big noggin, would i b able to use the big rollers under there?

Sorry, doublepost to Honi:

I will be looking for something like that as well sometime this spring and have the same questions. I, too, have a big head.

CaramelHonee, how can you tell that the other dryers would be too small? One said 23", I think. I don't know WHAT was 23" though. Did you measure your head's circumferance or diameter while wearing large rollers?

CC, everytime i go to the salon, they sit me under the regular attached to the chair dryers (if they don't have the ones above) and my head struggles 2 fit with the gray rollers. When i got the straw set using the flexirods, same thing. The little dryer i have at home is too small (meaning it's like a yarmulke) and it's not a floor model either. I don't want to assume that all my hair AND my head will fit ya know... so hopefully honi has used some huge rollers and can help a sista out with deciding on which one i should get. I'm gonna call them in a minute and ask about item #s 512, 508, 514 and 518. I can only assume that 23" inches means the circumference outside and i hope not b/c i just put 2 sheets of paper around my bun and head and it was tootight.

ROFL! My head is about the same size as yours. lol Please let us know what they say. I've bookmarked that page for future reference.

CaramelHonee, I use grey magnetic rollers all over my head and my head and rollers all fit nicely under there.

Sorry, I didn't read your response before I posted my other one.

I can't remember the exact price but it was over 200 bucks! OUCH! Yes, it does dry my hair really fast. It used to take me over an hour to dry my hair. Now it takes 50 minutes. It's wonderful because you can set the temperature as warm as you like or as cool as you like. Have you sat under a dryer like this at the salon?

You are too funny! Your big noggin will fit, grey rollers and all!

I remember Amillion had gotten one much cheaper but I don't know how she got it.

Thanks Honi and yes, i've sat under a dryer like that before and my hair is dry in 45 minutes --- YESSSS!!!! I called the number and the guy asked me to call him back later and he'll have the info...he didn't even know the wattage. WTF? I kept on badgering him and he gave me a different number to call so i'll b calling in a minute.

HONI - he told me the 514 was the best one... than when i told him i didn't own a salon he told me the 512 would b my best bet. WTF was that all about?

Sorry, one more question, what about a million flexirods for a curly look. Will that fit too?

HOLY ISHH!! the manufacturer told me that the 514 is 329... hey, i love my hair but dang... 329!!!
rofl.gif
Okay, he also said that the 514 is the best, BUT the 518 has an additional feature with is the temp speed...meaning if high is too much air, than you can switch it to either medium or low. Otherwise they are all the same...they each have a 60 minute timer and they r all easy to clean. The wattage is from 1000-1200 and it's fine for home use. They don't have a cool shots button (why would i think they'd have that) tho. I'll get the prices and the measurements in a second...hold on...the phones ringing now... come on ladies b patient... it's a recording and im waiting for someone in cust svc...

CH! You got me crack in up laughin over here.

I'll call Sally's and see if I can get a price for the 514 and 518 ok?

okay...his name is alan and he's confused about the measurements. He told me i could come to his store out in flushing and he could show me all of the dryers. I guess i should go with rollers huh? j/k
laugh.gif

The dryer is $299 plus s&h (about $25 to the Bronx). But if i go there personally, i'll just take it home with me. AGAIN, THANKS SO MUCH HONI & NAY007 for all your help AND most importanly your quick response

My Mom got a Pibbs at an Asian BSS for $200. I don't know what number model it is; it has the temp. control knob, but not the timer... (who really needs a timer anyway???) I don't know if you're familiar with White Plains, but the store is on the corner of Main & Church St. if you're interested!!

Thanks Lindy... i think your mom has the model# 508. That's the only one without the timer. I just want one that will dry my hair the quickest but not necessarily burn the ishh out of me either. I'm going to test all of them out for "comfortable head positioning"

2morrow.

CH,

Sorry gurl. These sales people are dumb as a stone when it comes to stuff like this. These are the same people that told me that they have never heard of the good day hair pins. Took me two minutes to tell them to look in the professional catalog and not on the damn shelf!
laugh.gif
Then they asked me to call back.

Anywho:

Pibbs model 514 - 279.00. Shipping is free.

She didn't have any price info on the 518 model.

I went on ahead and asked for the price for model 512 and that one is 269.00.

HTH!

O MI GOODNESS!!! Thanks Honi. So all i have 2 do is go to any sally's beauty supply store and order it? About how long does it take to ship b/c i want this thing like today!!
laugh.gif

You got it! Just go on and ask for the Sally's professional catalog and tell them you want to order it. Make sure you remind them that shipping is FREE. It takes 5-10 biz days to your door.

Which model are ya getting?

Honi
