Hello ladies. Am I the only one who has so many single strand knots ? What do you guys do to cut them down. If not , eliminate them?

Please and thanks !

I keep my 4b natural hair stretched 100% of the time. I have tiny "o" shaped curls that tangle and after the first month or so of wearing my hair out I learned the hard way to keep it stretched. I used to just cut out the knots after each wash...

Now I just don't wear wash n gos. I wear celie braids under a wig or I wear my hair blown out. I either go get it rollerset and blown out or I blow out the roots myself and wear buns.

girl let me know when you find out. I have ssk's in about 25% of my strands. they cause tangles by catching onto other strands. sometimes when there a huge knot and i carefully pick it apart, in the center of all the chaos is one measly ssk.

I think everybody's agreeing here: Keep that hair stretched! I straightened my hair two or three times last year, and had a keratin treatment almost two months ago. I very rarely see single strand knots anymore :)

My hair already lost the keratin effects :(
It's all curling back up.
Money down the drain, but my hair is acting a whole lot better since adding heat back in to the equation. I have one spot that is heat damaged, but it's weird - curly at the roots, midway it's wavy, and then it starts to curl back up at the ends. But that's beside the point :)

Every once in a while, the heat does help. Even a light blow dry helps.

I did protective styles all the time, deep conditioned, searched and destroyed like crazy with expensive shears and still couldn't retain length. I was stuck at BSL/MBL

I think my hair has never liked being in twists because I always did them on wet air and let them air dry. I am a victim of hygral fatigue (weird, crazy holey splits) and load on the coconut oil before washing because I know my hair swells up like nobody's business!

I no longer deep condition for hours on end - I did 40 minutes on Monday, but that was a fluke. I only wanted to do it for 20 minutes. I cannot keep this hair wet for too long.
