Am i the only one that does it?Okay so when i feel that my hair is tooo straight, i very lightly mist my hair with water and leave in to give it more body and that thicker look. Sometimes i wonder if i'm damaging my hair because ever since i was little, people around me made it seem as if it was taboo to allow water to reach relaxed hair. I hope this isn't wrong!!:perplexed

Nope that's fine. I do this too, but I usually only do it when my hair is air dried and up, and I mix in a few drops of conditioner and shake it up really well. It's hard to make my air dried hair really soft, but this does it every time.

I do it when my hair is flat ironed and I want to wear it in a ponytail. Spraying my ponytail with water makes it look a little thicker :yep:

Some people don't like water near their hair and don't even like humidity coz they like their hair to be bone straight or as straight as possible. But if you're not trying to maintain super straight hair then water is fine.

Ditto!....... ;)

I keep a spray bottle at my desk of just water. I wear buns and often re-moisturize my hair once during the day with HS 14 then mist my hair with water to keep the moisture going. I consider my hair like a plant - it needs water to thrive. My hair suffered its worst damage (before I found LHCF) when I stopped wetting my hair frequently which I used to do even before I found the boards since I work out a lot. Water is definitely my hair's friend!

No its fine. I will wet mine lightly to get some body waves w/out heat.

lol, funny
I just came back from the bathroom from wetting mine. I like to "mist" myhair when I see that it's drying out and becoming alil frazzled :ohwell:. There's no harm in it unless-as another poster stated-you're trying to maintain "bone-straight" hair. Other than that, I say go for it!

Overall it's all about "listening" to your hair...and if it's thirsty then QUENCH it :)

It's fine to give relaxed hair a spray of water.

When I first joined LHCF, my hair was so dry and thirsty! For the first 8 months of my HHJ, I carried a little spray bottle with mostly water and just a bit of conditioner and oil added. I had to use it several times a day to keep my buns looking nice.

Nothing wrong with it! Girl, I'd be the one with a fresh perm walking in the rain without an umbrella, lol. I don't like when my hair feels flat/thin. So water puffs it up and gives it some fullness.

I do it, well I dont really spray but for kicks when I take a shower, I will get my hair wet on purpose, and then seal w/ EVOO. Water is really the best moisturizer :)
