Spiral Curling Iron

If your talking about the spiral one and not the wavy one..yup I had one when I was in high school about 15 years ago. It took way to long and the spirals never came out right.

I bought one about five months ago but I didn't really use it. I tried it on a section of hair but I couldn't get the spirals to come out good. I will probably try it again some down the line.

I had the same problem. I gave it away. I think it's designed for someone else to use on your head.
If I recall, while using it I thought I needed to be ambidexterous (sp?) bc the spirals would curl away from my face on one side, and toward my face on the other side- it looked sloppy.
I got the best results using a regular curling iron (1" width) and put the end of my hair under the tong closest to the handle and twirling the length of hair around the barrel until it reached the end of the barrel. This created a nice spiral effect. I also had great luck using a steam curling iron after I wraped the hair around the barrel, I gave it a shot of steam.

Exactly my results. It took me forever to try to correct it with a regular curling iron.

Thanks for the post and responses, I've been thinking about purchasing this but now I think I'll pass... :look:

Believe it or not when I was in 12th grade I bought a spiraling iron from Walmart and it worked GREAT. It was Mary Kate and Ashley's brand :sekret: but something happened with the cord. I think it had a short in it. When I tried to find it again, Walmart didn't have it anymore. I also had a tiny one from Claires which also broke. They were cheap (both under $10) but they definitely got the job done. Too bad I can't find them anymore. I recently bought a Vidal Sasoon one from Target and I can't figure out how to work the damn thing. :ohwell:
