I've actually been meaning to post this. I've been a member of LHCF for two years now I think, and I have made great progress. Unfortunately, that progress has been undone now that I am back in school and wasn't taking good care of my hair as in the past. I'm also frustrated w/ having to get used to the texture of my texlaxed hair. It's basically big hair that does whatever it wants if I dare to wear it out w/out taming it w/ heat. Now I have breakage on the top of my head. I don't know when it started or why and if I've continued to do whatever I was doing to allow it to continue! :(

So, my solution is that I will play the guessing game w/ my hair for the next four months to figure out why it is so upset. I am on a personal no direct heat challenge until May and will try to wash twice a week.

I'm just so frustrated which is why I haven't even posted updates in my fotki since the fall. Why would I document such a dark period in the life of my hair? Thanks for listening to me vent. I'll suck it up and stop wallowing in self pity.

Your hair always been an inspiration to many here so I am sorry to hear about your hair woes. If you have recently changed your regimen, you might want to revisit it to see what is causing the breakage. My hair was breaking at one point from underprocessed hair and I had to do a corrective relaxer to even things out. I hope you will begin to see progress soon so you can start being happy about your hair again.

What's your new regimen?

My new regimen:

Precondition w/ Aveda sap moss pre-poo
shampoo w/ aveda sap moss shampoo
deep condition w/ 10 en 1
detangle under the shower w/ PM The Rinse and my wide tooth bone comb
apply lacio lacio leave-in to wet hair
seperate hair into pony tails
apply Kera Care serum and an oil to sections and either braid them or roller set
airdry

It's that simple. Last semester I didn't wash frequently and I would blowfry my hair and use the flat iron. The blowdrying and flat ironing on a weekly basis worked for me in the pics in my fotki so I don't know what could have happened other than the fact that I now have more texlaxed hair and I wasn't washing my hair as frequently.

Thanks for the encouragement though. I think that once I get over this hurdle, there will be no stopping my progress. Oh, and did I mention that my ends do NOT want to co-operate. Hence the reason why I am back in protective style, no heat mode. Doggone it! What's the use of having pretty and long hair if I can't show it off?

its going to turn around it already told you to tell some one:) so keep listen do what you know it loves it may act out at first but it will love you again mys did my was acting real hood with me:lol: :lachen: i know the ladyies here will help you i got to go now mys is telling me its time to moisturizer and i have to listen:lol:  good look

Your regimen looks very good to me so give it 3 months and you will have long flowing strong hair once again. You will be able to flaunt your hair soon but for now, you might want to consider protective style for a couple months (no heat). When your hair bounces back then you can wear it out again. Whatever you do, hide the iron for while. Your hair will love you for it.

Hey Imani, is the water hard at your school?

That could be part of the problem, especially if you're washing more often than you ever did before.

BTW, I've always admired your hair, I think it's lovely.

Thanks for the support ladies. I'm not sure if the water is hard. I've moved, but am thinking that if the water was hard at my old place, it's still hard. I live in NY and actually, the water may be the difference. Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into it.
