Spinoff: who's going to shut everything down fotki, boards etc...

this is a spin off from the how long will your journey last thread. Just wondering who will totally shut everything down like their albums journals etc... or will you just stop visiting and leave all your stuff on the net?
I haven' made up my mind yet if I'll leave my fotki up or not but I've got a little while yet.

I am never going to end my hair journey even if I am no longer participating or reading the hair boards. I think taking care of your hair is an everyday experience.

I do not have a fotki or anything but I about 95% sure when my membership is done I will not be visiting the hair boards. I think I may post a picture of my hair has my grande finale exit or even one showing entirely myself Not sure yet, but I will make a decision when the time comes.

I do not consider myself to be on a journey any more. I consider this to be a way of life, and not something I think about much because it's all becoming routine.

At some point I will probably not visit the boards as much for whatever reason, but I don't see myself quitting my routines. I would definitely come back and check out Fotkis for further inspiration.

I don't even have a fotki, and I feel like it's too late to start now, I'm just going to post progress on this here LHCF for the next year. I'm hoping to be BSL/MBL <--same thing for me, by next April which would be my anniversary. I've probably gained enough info in these few months to go on with lifelong healthy hair care, but I don't think I'll be able to just bounce like that. Caring for my hair, obsessing about my hair has been permanently etched into me, I believe. And this is the only place I can come and find like-minded folks so, I'll still be here.

I too consider this to be a way of life however, I will not always chronicle everything I do. Simply, when I relocate next year, we'll be on dial-up and hopefully raising micro-dudes (our babies) so I choose not to make the time.

I plan on leaving my info in place for a while, perhaps a year or more. Because I pay for the fotki, it's not practical to continue to do so indefinitely but I know others can learn from my experiences as I have from others. If at some point we get DSL or even better, though...I may be back with a vengeance!!

If a member posts a few pics and tips in the LHCF photo gallery before she closes her hair album and ends her membership, can other members access her pics in the gallery after she's gone?

It would be nice if that's possible so ex-members can leave their "hair legacy" for future inspiration.

i will keep my member ship even when i get the hair i want. why cause i like it here and there is aways something new comeing out about hair care.i dont want to miss anything and i like reading about other things here beside hair care

Honestly, I don't plan to do as much to my hair forever, so I know I won't be around. After my membership expires, I may renew for another year or two, but after that I'll be gone.

I have the free fotki, but once they say I'm at the limit (if there is one), I won't be updating anymore.

I'll probably leave it up but update less. I always want a record somewhere of all the effort i put into this. plus, for the people i plan to help, seeing will be believing for them.

I think that information would still be available, isn't is archived? I mean you can pull up posts by former members, and so I think it would be the same with the gallery. I could be wrong though.

I don't really have a goal I'm waiting to get to but I don't plan on leaving anytime soon. I love learning and talking to you guys about hair too much to leave. There's always something new to learn and I don't want to miss anything. In the future if I stop going to hair boards I will most likely shut down my fotki.

I'd like to keep my info up, i wouldn't frequent the board though, it takes up ALL my time, im trying to stay away, it just turns me into a product junkie, i have EVERYTHING (well except for a few products) i don't need anything else i know all i need to know, i just need to get to growing and stop obseesing...coming here everyday doesn't help, but its like CRACK. I think it would be good to keep an album though as one poster said seeing is beleiving and i know i was a cynnical (sp) soul before i seen black women with hair, so i'd love to be an inspiration for people. Besides even if i do not frequent the hair boards i STAY on msn and myspace...

Good question. I will be moving soon and will no longer have internet access so I won't be able to access fotki or the boards as much. I pay for my membership on fotki, at this point I don't know if I will renew.

If im paying for fotki I would wait until my account expired, and move my progress pics and products to a free acccount.
