Is someone who commits any sin far from g-dly? How does a lady get a g-dly spouse and what does that look like? What does a g-dly wife look like? This is to free up the thread on prayers for a good husband.

That is what we should look for and that is what we should be to get one. If we are seeking God and walking with him he will not give us someone who doesnt do the same. The opposite applies as well. If someone loves and fears God they are accountable to him and are morely to treat you correctly. If they submit to God they will submit to taking care of you. They will lay down their life for you. Thats what I expect in a mate and thats what I hope to be. That way the guy doesnt have the burden of completing me, Im already complete...but I can bring something to the equation, I can come to serve, not to be served. ^^^ This! I remember when my BF told me that he loves God more than he loves me, I was so upset!!!! Clearly a case of the flesh rising up. But as time went on, I realized that this is the way it should be. If he truly loves God more than he loves you, he will treat you right.

To me, a godly man comes from God and conforms to the laws and wishes of God, not of the world and not with fleshy wisdom. He takes heed to his spirit. He has been delivered out of and does not yield to temptations by the grace of God. He keeps the commandments of God and has repented of known sins and does not go back to those sins that he knows are wrong. When convicted of a sin of ignorance, he repents of that as well. But more importantly, a godly man confesses with his mouth the Lord Jesus and believes in his heart that God raised Jesus from the dead.
