I didn't want to hijack the original thread, but I have a question for those who "knew" their DH's before marriage.

How long was it between "knowing" one another and marriage?

When I was in the 7th or 8th grade I will never forget my algebra teacher saying to me: "Why buy the milk when you've already got the cow?" For some reason his words stuck with me (though I didn't always listen) because I figured as a man he would have at least some insight into the matter. And, no doubt, this is true of some men.

We knew one another about 3-4 months in. I felt that he should get to know the outside of me before knowing/meeting the inside of me. We dated for 7 years before marriage.

I hope I answered your question.

We lived together....before we got married...we were kids!
like 20....I'd say about 3-5 months when it was established we were exclusive

Hmm...I expected more responses. :ohwell:

We "knew" each other less than a month after dating. We had a child 14 months later. We got married a year after having our first child. We've been together for 10 years; married for 8.
