Lace fronts are expense but they are supposed to last 1 year- we'll see.Are the moisturizers cremes or liquids?
chocostudent said:What I’ve spent so far on my quest for longer hair (These products were bought on the internet but figures don’t include shipping.)
Transitioning Aids:
Lace Front Wig $500
Accessories:
Satin Sleep Cap $16.99
Tapes/Adhesives $60
Gel Wig Cap $25
Growth Aid:
MTG $20
Peppermint Oil (for MTG)
Wild Growth Hair Oil
Nutrition:
Viviscal $80
Organic Flaxseed Oil $20
Protein Shake Mix $40
GNC hair & nail vitamins
LHCF subscription fee: $5
Buying products for future growth: $800-900. Eating noodles and baked beans because you spent all your money on books and hair: priceless!
And I still have more to buy!
Bobby Pins, Mane & Tail Shampoo and Conditioner, Rogaine (for breakage at hair line from braids/weaves) Water based moisturizer (suggestions??? Particularly something that helps soften/detangle natural hair)

Can I get an amen, I have 4 falls, 2 UPA's and 3 phonys of various types.... I justify them by saying they are saving me the price of a salon visit!! LOL.... We just have to remember not to go overboard, stay within our means is what is important.firecracker said:Hey girly. Good luck on your growth adventure. I am sure her purchase of the lacefront was strictly for protective hair style purposes and just another style option. Her list isn't that bad or long in my opinion. I have seen many pj's list here. I am sure their smaller purchases of vitamins, style products, appliances, oils etc amounted to the same.

Just in case you want to buy another lace front, I got mine at Afrotreasures.com (actually, I won one off their auction on ebay) and it only cost me $250 and they have really good quality too.You can also check blackhairmedia.com's discussion forum on lace fronts, the ladies on there get theirs for less than $200 from chinese vendors.
But my suggestion is to use the products you have now before buying any more (trust me, I did the same thing you did and now I don't even have space in my house to keep all the things I bought for my hair)
chocostudent said:AtlantaJJ- Well I have human hair braids in now but I will say bye to them the minute I get the wig. I want to be able to treat my natural hair. It seems like I can’t win. Braids thin my edges and perms/relaxers and break my hair. My hair is strongest and thickest in the natural state- that’s why I’m transitioning. I like straight styles so I think I’ll flat iron when I reach my goal.
chocostudent said:You can secure the wig using tape, instead of adhesives. That way it will be secure. But not to the point where you couldn't remove the unit every night. That's what I intend to do. The whole point, for me, is to take care of my natural hair
Well yes... when you have a minute...a long minute...do a search on henna on this site. There are two very long very good active threads that talk about henna, and other natural herbal hair colors/conditioners.chocostudent said:What exactly is hennaerplexed- I have no idea? Can I buy it online?
