Special Thought for Today

This quarter, our lesson study is focused on the Fruits of the Spirit. Yesterday's lesson had a quote that is worth our contemplation as Christians:

"I was hungry, and you formed a humanities club to discuss it. I was imprisoned, but you complained about the crime rate. I was naked, and you debated the morality of my appearance. I was sick, and you thanked God for your health. I was homeless, and you preached to me about the shelter of God's love. You seem so holy ......and so close to God, but I'm still hungry, lonely, cold and in pain. Does it matter?"

This quote really touched me and inspired me to take a good look at my life - at my actions - so that I reflect Christ's love in thought and deed. So just thought I would share.

Be blessed ladies. :Rose:

Thanks for that Divya!

I like how the lesson this week talks about how we use the word 'love' so loosely. We 'love' everything and this devalues the true meaning of love to the point that we are able to distance ourselves from what it takes to really love. The quote reminds me of that- we say we love others but how is that showing up in what we do when we're so far away?

I'm going to enjoy this quarter. :yep:

This is so true. We often forget that love = action. Like you said, true love shows up in the things that we do.

Yes, this is going to be a great quarter!

Very profound statement...:yep:

God bless
