Girl you've been missing in action for a minute. Girl you set it off with those pin curls, self relaxing tips, and now your updates like before, are the bomb. Very lush, long, and beautiful.

i LiKe toTAlly agrEE! OmiGodz. j/k. but really, i love the bangs and colour and everything! wondeful! just wondeful! dang, very pretty hair and lady. ill be stalking er...checking out your album often

I checked out her fotki and all I can say is one day... one day. Get 'em girl. I'm on a long road to getting where you are. But I'll make it. I believe in me. :D

Wow ... very beautiful! Did you cut your bangs or did someone else do them. I would like to get bangs (not as long as yours) but I'm worried that a stylist won't be able to duplicate a picture that I bring in and jack them up.

SG, your album is one that I love to stalk! Your hair is gorgeous! Love the color and the bangs and thanks for the relaxer tips, I'm going to give it a shot soon!

I agree with everyone else, beautiful updates southerngirl!
I was wondering if you could share the password to the miscellaneous album/folder??

OMG!!! It looks SOOOO good! i'm in luuuu:love::love::love:vvv! lol... i've been wanting bangs too... maybe when my hair gets as long as hers... someday... hopefully December 2005... *crossing fingers and praying hard!* Great job SouthernGirlz...

Wow! You have been my hair inspiration since I joined! I'm glad you updated your album. You hair is absolutely gorgeous!!!

Wow

Thanks you guys!!! My apologies, I know I've been away for a while but I'm so glad I finally got the site updated. I'm still trying to make updates as we speak, but I think it crashed b/c I can't see the pictures now :)

Tanelions, I can't believe you shouted me out! As you can see, I've done a lot since I've been away :)

Dolapo, Milla03, Nikki1971, Lili, Lonesomedove, Dee, Carlita, Zoj2
thanks you guys for all your nice comments!! I'm all blushing :)

To answer a few questions:

-Not to brag, but I'm still a do-it yourselfer. I've only been to a salon 2 or 3 times in my whole life and I'm 35 :)
-I do my own trims, relaxers, hair styles (although when down it's usually just straight)
-Yes, I cut my own bangs this time!! The first cut was in June in the "I got Bangs" album. Then a few weeks later I cut them shorter cause they're always in my eyes and I have to get used to them. I think I'll maintain this bang length while I let the back and sides grow out more this year. Let me know if you need help cutting your bangs. I relaxed just the front before I cut so they would be really straight, then cut. I altready have about an inch of new growth so they're growing fast!!!
-I also colored it myself using a Jazzing rinse earlier this year. I liked the color and I wanted more natural highlights so when I've gone to the beach a few times this summer I made this mixture of lemon juice and conditioner and sat in the sun to get additional highlights (my hair was already slightly auburn due to relaxing). I've been co washing more often b/c just to make sure I don't have any issues w/breakage. I won't relax again for about 2 months so I'll have enough new growth to make sure I'm OK. I can already see 1" of my black roots after just a month! Maybe it's the excessive co-washing. Since doing this, I have not had any excess shedding or breakage!

I hope all of this helps! Thanks again for your sweet comments!

Hey Dee,

Sure, let me see what's in there and I'll make it public. I have a few miscellaneous pix to add so I'll get them in and the password will be the same as the others. Fotki is acting up now and some pix are still missing so it might take a minute.

Sotherngirl, I always thought you had nice healthy hair but your hair looks even healthier in the updated pictures. Are you still using the Mane n'Tail conditioner?

Southerngirl, your hair is absolute fabulous!!!!!!! Hopefully by Dec 2005, I'll be at brastrap length or further. Your hair is quite thick and healthy, do you take any special vitamins for your hair's health? What was the length of your hair when you actually thought about reaching your goal? Was it shoulder lenght, chin length? Like I said earlier, your hair is great. Happy growing.

You look like a movie star. I love your album. It is nice seeing you again, Southerngirl. I miss you so much.

OOH!!!
OMG!! Girl I love them. They look soo good on you.
Your hair still looks soo healthy and thick as ever.

Hey SG! I have been thinking about you. Glad to see you are doing well. Your pics are FIRE!!!!! I love the bangs and your hair looks AWESOME as usual. True inspiration!

Thanks Ladies

Still blushing over here!

Dee- I opened the Miscellaneous album but there's just a few past Avatars and LCHF meeting pix. I'll add more soon!

Keylargo- Hey there  Thanks for the compliment. I've been using MNT the whole time, but I must admit that I also started using CON again now that I have this color. It's easy for it to look dry (you can tell in some of the color pix) so I use CON shampoo for moisture and sometimes skip MNT conditioner altogether. I still do use MNT conditioner for my CO washes. I stopped using oil on my scalp and just put MNT co on my scalp after co washing. I was doing this about everyday. I also use Surge, but not consistently. So I'd say the 3 products I still use regularly are CON shampoo (red label professional), MNT Poo and Con., Surge, olive oil occasionally on ends. They're not breaking so I really haven't used it much.
Chestnut Blonde- Thanks!! As for vitamins, I still use HF37 faithfully. Also, my starting length was a shoulder-length bob in 2003, then I got to brastrap in Dec of 2004, then I cut about 4-6 inches off this year so far. I wasn't concerned about length earlier this year, but now that I cut bangs, I'd like the back to be longer so I've got new goals.

Sherrylove, thanks so much!!! You have always been my inspiration!! I wish I had your hair. You make it look so easy to grow and maintain.

Thanks DatJerseyDyme :)

Anky, I miss you too girlie

Chocolate- Thanks girlie! You haven't missed anything! I just updated all those albums on my site last night at about 11PM! I was up all night, but I wanted to get it done.

Hiza, thanks girlie!!!! Both you AND Sylver 2 have always been my inspirations!!

Thanks for the shout Sylver2

Hey Southern, still looking good! I wanted to hear more about this concoction you use in the sun, the lemon and conditioner mix. How does that work?

Southerngirl I was wondering about you a couple of days ago. Nice to see you back and posting again! As always the hair is beautiful.

LOL, SG....I didn't know if you wanted to be called out chica.....

I ain't want u cussin me out....I was close to doing it, but my track record hasn't been good lately...:look:

You know I love u  , you know you're gorgeous...enjoy the shine:notworthy
You deserve it...:D

Thanks Missbobbie and CincySweetie :)

Cincy, I mixed lemon juice (and real lemons), chamomile tea, and Herbal Essences leave-in conditioner (I had never used this conditioner before, but I was on vacation and it's all this little convenience store had). I mixed all three, with more lemon than anything else. I put it in a spray bottle and just saturated my hair. I got this idea on the board (I believe here or somewhere on the that talked about alternative ways to lighten hair). I did this over the course of a few weekends - each time I was in the sun I would do it, even at the pool. Gradually, it just got lighter and lighter. My hair was already reddish in the sun due to relaxing so it didn't take that long. I guess it's permanent though, because my roots are already growing in dark. I never thought about that, so I don't know what I'll do to maintain it when summer's over without coloring or just letting it grow out. I also debated about using Sun-in, but not sure if I want to try that again while I'm still relaxed.

HTH,
SG

Hey Michelle3147

Thanks for thinking about me! I wasn't posting for a while and hadn't made updates for numerous reasons. Anyhoo, it's so nice to know I was missed :)

Hey Girl

Well, I did try to sneak the updates in (I guess I've gotten a little more modest these days) :), but I thought that was very sweet of Tanelions. . I really wanted to update for everyone that was PMing me to open the site again and since I hadn't made updates since January I felt it was time. Plus I get so much great advice from you guys that it's nice to "give back" tips when I can.

I wouldn't have gotten mad at you either way girlie. You'll always be my boo!
