Hey guys

sometimes when i brush my hair some areas of my head feels very sore...and i just dont understand why.. can u please explain to me what could be the problem and a possible solution thanks

I have no idea. Maybe brushing is too abrasive for your scalp and hair. Try not brushing for a whle and take note of how your hair and scalp behave. I hope someone will hop in here n help you out some more.

I'm always sore. I don't necessarily think its a bad thing. Some people think its growing.:o Personally, I massage it a bit from time to time and it feels much better.

My crown was sore all last week it's a little better now. I noticed since I've been doing daily 10 minute scalp massages that was probably the cause for me.

There are 3 things that I can think of....

1) Massaging your scalp- A lot of people who do scalp massages complain of soreness for a while

2) Wrapping- Wrapping the hair nightly sometimes leads to sore spots

3) Damaged scalp- Gym can elaborate on this one, I know one of the culprits is relaxing too often

I was wondering about this too. My scalp has been extremely sore lately. I relax every 6 months, and this hasn't happened before. It's definitely sore to the touch, and combing is painful unless I comb from the ends. Any idea what this is about? I have been feeling ill lately, but my diet is healthy (plenty of fruits and veggies, little sugar).

Any thoughts?

my scalp also gets sore but i know why. i have a habit of scratching or patting my head instead of scratching when i am stressed out which is a lot due to grad school :wallbash:. my scalp will get sore but if i leave it alone it gets better and goes away.

Right above my temples and my crown area has been really sore for about two weeks (I think)...the only thing I can remember changing is doing scalp massages but I don't remember if my head was sore before I started doing them...my hair has thinned out in the areas above my temples and I believe it's from having braids for too long...I hope there's nothing wrong and that this soreness is somewhat of a healing phase and will equal growth and not more thinning...

My scalp alaways gets sore in the same place whenever I get a growth spurt and or when I have reached a certain amount of new growth. The only thing that helps if I pull with little pressure on the area. It relieves the tension. I look forward to it now cause I know why it happens

My scalp was sore after massaging my scalp for a couple of days. I contributed it to a growth spurt. I had to stop though because it had gotten too sore to where it was uncomfortable.:ohwell:

I've had the same problem where if I lay my finger on the sore spot, it will be sore even more. I just leave it alone, since touching it makes it worse.

For me it was:

(like tiffers mentioned).. wrapping. My head was ssooo tender after wrapping at night.

Scratching alot

Relaxing. Not necessarily right after a touch up..just in general...i was more tenderheaded while i was realxed.
