Hey ladies, I'm transitioning (again:ohwell:) and now I've noticed a new phenomenon lol. Ok, my scalp doesn't bother me when I'm just going about my day at all. But when I either lay down at night on my pillow or wear a scarf tight on my head, it itches/hurts like crazy! I cannot stand it and have to lay with my head propped up on my arm just so I can fall asleep! I've never had this much new growth before and never experienced this either. Has anyone ever experienced this? My NG is really moisturized so I don't think it's dry hair. Also I wash every 3 days and CW daily (since I exercise 6 days a week this is NOT an option) so I know my scalp is clean. I haven't had oil on my scalp in quite a while so it could be that too. Not sure. Anywho, looking forward to responses!;)

i'm curious as to if you have stopped using mtg while transitioning . i've read in threads that the hair you gain with mtg will fall out after you stop using it. here's my experience: when i was applying cortizone and wgo to my scalp for the past two weeks my hair would itch and i would scratch it but then there would be an intense sorness in that area for a while after i scratched there. don't know what it means. no breakage or anything so far. i just got my mtg and used it today. i'm hoping that my hair doesn't fall out if i stop using it. any advice or info you could offer me?

Hi Kbragg,
I have recently discovered that my hair dressing was too heavy for winter. I have now started doing morning conditioner washes which has helped keep my hair moist and my scalp itch-free. I think that my hair pores were clogged which contributed to the itching. Whatever you use on your hair reaches your scalp eventually and can cause problems. I am now using oils sparingly.
