Sometimes Our Feet Hurt ...

....'from standing' -- standing for God's principles, standing for God's Word, standing for what you know is right.

I realized something. I love cute shoes and I have them..lots of them; all styles, heels, sandals, flats, wedges... I love to wear my cute shoes and I will stand in those shoes for however long it takes for me to make sure, my "cuteness moment" has been fulfilled. Hey! Im'a girl. :gorgeous:

So how does this apply to God's Word?

If I can stand in a cute pair of shoes, showing off my cute painted toes, or striding with ease in my 3 inch heels or wedges, then how much more I am well able to stand upon God's Word... come hell or high water or floods.

If it does not matter to me that a shoe has given me a sore spot; and if neither does it matter to me that a strap fits a little too tight or if the width of shoe is not quite right. If it's cute, I'll wear them. :blush3:

Getting Dressed...

I also love cute clothes. Again... Im'a' girl. :giggle:

But I also wear the full armour of God and yes.. it's a heavy metal load. It's not cute at all, it is totally and completely battle gear and ..... ummm, well.... don't guys wear stuff like this?

Again... I'm just saying' .. Im'a GIRL :reddancer: and this is not fashionista apparel. And over my faux fur coats... it's kinda like looking like ... a bear? :eek2:

But yet this armour I do wear. And with great honour. For this Armour is the covering of God's Grace upon me and each of those who also chose to wear it, no matter how unglamourous it appears.

Standing... We have to stand. If not, no one else will. We're the only ones who can... "Stand".

So many take God's title, His Name, His Grace and will put His Love for them to disgrace.

And we even have folks 'lying' and saying they are Believers and yet, they reject His Words and replace it with their own, misleading others astray or even away from God's heart.

How it broke the heart of God when He said how hard and long He searched...and searched and could find no one to stand on the wall or take a stand for Him.

So... who's standing ?
Who's wearing the full armour of God? Who is on the Lord's side?

Who is saying, no matter how hard it gets, or sometimes my feet hurt...BUT ..

Nevertheless, 'Stand' we shall.'

Who is saying, I am one of those who love Him come high water or hell. I'm standing on the righteousnes and the Word of God. :amen:

Question:

I have a scripture reference which has inspired me to write this message. Who can share the scripture that I have in my heart for this message? It's quite familiar. :yep:

Ephesians 6:11-18

Thanks Pretty Lady... This is definitely the accurate scripture. :yep:

It's just not the one that inspired my message.

Can you come up with another?

Clue #1:

Shimmie is always 'startin' sumpin' ::look::

Clue #2:

"Water"

I like also Titus 1:9, 10-16 :yep:

Yes... this is excellent.

We're having 'Bible Study' up in here.

Still not the one that inspired this message, but I love this scripture in Titus.

Another Clue:

"Walked"

Ummm...shot in the dark

Matthew 14:29... Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

Well I was gonna guess the scripture PFANB said too:blush:. BTW, the very subject you posted on is why I chose the avatar I have ;). She is fully dressed in her armor. She is skillful with her weapons. She ain't neva skurred...:boxing:.

YES !

 :dance7: :circle:

Pretty Face.. YOU have good Aim in the dark, girl!

That's the scripture that inspired me to write this message.

I was thinking about 'standing' on the Word and standing on God's principles, no matter what.

Then I caught the picture of Jesus, how He stood upon the water, in spite of the raging storm, He got up stood and walked upon the waters and did not sink. He heard the 'cry' of his diciples who were on the boat, fearful and trembling from the storm. In answering their cry, Jesus ran, He stood and He walked upon the waters to their rescue.

Peter saw Him and at first thought He was a 'ghost', and then Peter got a revelation and called out...

'Lord! If that be you... Bid me come!"

Wooooo ! I gotta shout. . :yay: I love this. "Bid me come".

Then Jesus answered: "Come" ! ! !

And Peter stepped out onto the rolling and rocking waters and walked upon them, headed toward Jesus.

Isn't this amazing? Peter 'stood' and then he 'walked' upon the waters.

Yeah.... I know... :yep: he [Peter] lost control and he stumbled and fell and then cried out... "Lord, save me... or I will perish..."

But isn't that what happens to us? We stand upon the 'waters' we walk and then we get distracted from our focus upon Jesus and we stumble and fall.

Or we put on our shoes of Armour (our feet are shod with the preparation of [the Gospel of] peace), and our feet begin to hurt, from the 'standing' and the challenges which come against our stand.

Soooo, that's what the inspiration of this scripture is about. Sometimes, while standing, our feet hurt; we lose our balance, we stumble and fall.

However, we get back up, call on Jesus and we stand some more, for then it comes back our call and it is sound doctrine as it is written in all of the scriptures which each of you have mentioned:

Titus 1:9

He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it

Ephesians 6:11-17

Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

...and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

You know what? We're pretty well dressed, don't you think? :yep: :reddancer:

You are absolutely gorgeous... each of you. :gorgeous:

PrettyFace and Laela...
Thank you for letting me share this with you. I'm always writing something...

:bighug:

Prudent1 ... I love it... and you too.

Thank you for reading my thoughts. I'm just a writing and writing... all the time.

:bighug:

Hey Ladies...

I was wearing my new patent leather shoes today, and yes I was cute... but God had to check me on my cuteness. :blush3:

If I can 'stand' in these shoes, I can continue to stand for Him and not fall with the bunch who won't.

Yay Me! I was sure it wasnt right too...:lachen: I guess my bible in a year reading plan is paying off. This is an awesome word Shimmie. You always bring a fresh word. Preach Pastor Shimmie!

Yea, but this shows that you KNOW your Bible. Each of you had scripture after scripture and without hesitation, you put the Word out there. It all added up to the principle of the message.

Plus you ought to know me by now... that I'm always startin' sumpin'... :hide:

ETA: I don't know too much about the preaching. I was walking all cute today with my new shoes and God 'checked' me on it...

Took me straight to the water...

But my shoes are cute ... :giggle:
