Ladies y is it when we go to a black salon it is called a shop or the beauty shop. but when we go the a white salon it is called a salon. I noitced when I went to the Aveda Salon I was referring to it as a salon instead of a shop.

What is the diff?:perplexed

FYI: I am not trying to be funny nor offend anyone I am just curious.

LOL! I've never used the terms "shop" or "beauty shop", they sound funny to me.

I've always used "salon".

Personally, I don't think its a cultural thing it may just be a regional thing. Where I'm from it is used interchangeably. I don't prefer one over the other. Plus most shops in my city have salon attached to there name.
