Ok so I grew my hair out natural and then went to the salon and had it texlaxed with Miazani (LOVED IT) came out perfect...so i let it grow for six months and now I just want to touch-up the new growth but can't afford a trip to the salon. I've done my own relaxers in the past, but never a texlax quicky. So any help would be great. Could I buy the Miazani from a salon or beauty shop and do it myself? Or is there something close to Miazani i can buy (cheaper).:help2::help2::help2:

They sell Mizani at my local BSS, you might want to try looking there. I am not sure if there is another relaxer just like Mizani, but since you liked it so much, you might want to stick with it for your touch up. There are a lot of posts on here with texlaxing tips.

^^ What she said. There's a Texlaxer Support thread. It has a lot of good info.

I texlax half of my hair at a time (the front then the back). Since you have 6 months of new growth you may need to texlax in quarters. First, I base my scalp then cover the previously texlaxed hair with Creme of Nature Porosity Control conditioner then with Vaseline. Next I use a plastic cap and metal hair clips to cover the section(s) I'm not texlaxing. Sometimes I use two plastic caps. The exposed section I texlax, rinse, protein treat then neutralize before moving on to the next section. Once texlaxed, I saturate all of the hair in PC then Vaseline to protect it in case the plastic cap slips. So far I have not had any issues.

I recommend practicing the procedure with a thick conditioner. The back is trickiest part to texlax. Use a timer and write down every thing you do.

I'll be self texlaxing for the first time in a couple of weeks. How'd it go for you OP. What was your routine?
